gettin lifted

so my friend from work wants to trade me his vapir one 5.0 for my iolite.

anyone else find this as a good deal?

ive wanted a bag unit for a while but i know nothing about the vapir one.

i almost never use my iolite anyways, only paid 140 for it, and i just got a mflb last week so that can take care of my portability.

any suggestions?

I doubt the vapir is top notch but it should get the job done. If its not faulty it might even be nice, but dont expect it to last forever. And the MFLB is way better than the Iolite IMO.

If you are not using the iolite it might be an ok deal but imo all vapir product suck. Certain more then others but hey I'm not gonna know because I ain't gonna buy another one. While I understand why you might want to play with bags I dont think this unit will give you a fair idea of what is achievable. Perhaps a (former) owner can chime in but they seem far and few on this board.

I think it's all subjective in this situation. Vapirs aren't especially known for their quality or reliability, and the Iolite is much more expensive than the Vapir One new. But, if you don't use the Iolite and want to play around with bags then I'd say go for it, just know that it won't be something that holds a candle to quality bag vapes like the EQ or the Ion. Also, the resale value of the V1 will be much less than the Iolite probably.

Maybe your friend would let your try it out first so you can see how you like it?

1st vape I tried was a Vapir Digital and I laughed at it, continued to smoke for several more years. Thank goodness I tried some other vapes eventually or I'd still be smoking. My Crapir is still in closet...it is not even useful enough to use as a loaner since it doesn't vape well enough to help convert anyone to vapor.

I also got to try the exact model you're talking about and it was junk. Leaked like hell, smelled like plastic. The guy even had tried taping up the leaks. Absolute crap! Honestly not something I'd consider worthy of vaping.

Doesn't apply to your trade offer, but these days herbalAires are going for $170 delivered on eBay, and are well worth the extra $ vs. a Vapir. IMO the Vapir One is not a good value and should be avoided. It used to be a cheap option for bag use, but the herbalAire blows it away in the quality dept. and is now a great buy as well.

Although the iolite and Vapir both have plastic housings, the iolite's internal and external materials are high tech, while the Vapir's plasitc is not. If a bag filler is what you want, I'd put the iolite up for sale and put the $ toward a herbie, and skip the Vapir. You'd get 2 yrs. warranty with herbalAire, and nothing with a used model One.

Great Scott!
My vapir 5.0 was the WORST vape I've ever used. I wouldn't pay $1 for one. Seriously...it's that bad. I gave mine away to a friend who either threw it out or lost it. It's a piece of garbage. The iolite I enjoyed when I had it, but I preferred my MFLB to the iolite, so I sold it.

The vapir I'd give maybe a 2/10 TOPS. The iolite 7/10.
