Hey all, whats up?

ok, so I have never used a vap before, but with a lot of research ive been looking for one that does what I want.

I would want it to:
-easily hide, not like a bong where in a minute you can hide it in its storage place, but like as easy to hide as a lighter.
-battery/lighter powered. I wouldnt use it at home all set up, so i would want one that I can use on the go/ out and about.
-not all external elements get too hot, so I can hold it, or even lay it down without burning everything.
-cheap, I have little money, and dont want to use all of it on this

So, either of the first two rule out many vaps already, leaving a few left, such as:
vaporgenie
ubie/ cheapvaporizer
dominizer
vapostar
the magicflights
iolite

but me being cheap rules out many of those as well. That leaves my imagination up to making one myself.

Here is an idea ive played around with a lot, it started off as an ubie/ dominizer attachment that used a heating element instead of a lighter, but that turned into a 3 piece ultra compact vap.

So the leftmost piece, the smallest one, in black, is the mouthpiece. thats pretty self explanitory, at the very right end of it is a fine screen

next is the yellow segment. This one is slightly bigger than the mouthpiece, possibly with some o-ring to create a tight seal. Also with a screen on the right, this holds the green, and the mouthpiece fits snug against it, keeping it in place.

Lastly is the silver segment. The largest/ biggest holds the heating element (the orange twisted part extending out. The orange square on the end houses the batteries and an on/off switch. There are holes all along the side, allowing cool air in. Like lighter vaps, how quickly you draw your breath should give some control over the green.

I first thought of using a AA maglite for the body, and figure something for the 2 telescoping pieces. But aluminum/ metal isint good, is it? What do all of you think of this?

wouldnt you need a heat shield of some sort round the element, just wondering. pretty sure a heating element in a metal tube would heat the tube as well and be kinda hot too hold

Its actually a pretty good concept, like a modified ubie.

Im curious as to how you plan on heating the herb... What kind of heating element are you considering, and how does it operate?

in my experience with electric powered portables, its hard to find an appropriate heating element that wont drain battery life. even the magic flight only gets a bowl pack per battery!

Indeed, powering the heater is the limiting factor for size. The A123Systems battery is a little larger than a standard C-cell, and two of those can power a vape heater coil for only 30 minutes before being depleted and needing to be recharged.

The yellow piece in your diagram would be at least 400F. Thermal shielding would be problematic in that configuration.
