Tired of dispensary weed

Sorry if this post not belongs to this forum.
Im no longer a daily smoker because of certain responsibilities that get in the way. So when I do endulge I have been let down by the dispensary weed thats available in CT and Mass. I have tried dozens of strains over several years now and it's generally all the same. Yeah some strains give off a different experience, but the taste and dryness is about flat. Its mostly all been dry and harsh, and about 99% tasteless, and it never tastes like it smells. The smell is often fantastic.

Been burning for about 45 years now and way back I can tell you it was really hard to find good bud. You only came across it a few times a year, and It was like the thing you lived for. You were so lucky when you came across it that it kept you on the hunt to find it again. I haven't seen that type of product one time from he dispensaries since CT became legal. It was so flavorful, and it hung around on your taste buds for 20 min or so after burning and it was sometimes not harsh at all. You could fill your lungs and blow out even after taking a second breath.

We had a lot of dirt weed back then and much of it wasn't great at getting you high. The ability to select a statin was non-existent in my world. It was difficult to find it half the time so you were buying whatever you could get your hands on, but when it was good is was a lot better than anything around today.

Today, the shit I get at the dispensary is so harsh I can barely take it one hit in a bat. The tase is like a ghosted memory of what pot used to taste like. All you get is blown out. After a week or two of smoking a couple strains the experience is all the same, Just get stunned not stoned.

Has anyone had experience with other states dispensaries, or strains, or dispensaries in Mass that offer the real deal?

I hear ya! But you're lucky that goodness and value is much closer than you think and quite abundant just over the border (and thru 10 miles of NH)... get a mmj card in MA and use it in Maine to find a suitable "caregiver" and peruse r/Mainetrees.... you'll be glad you did, trust me!

Just say "NO" to overpriced, crappy MA MSO MIDS (if you can) cuz sadly, that's all you're ever gonna get.

I find that insa in springfield flower is as you describe it. Flat, dry and mostly the same. I stay away from insa now. Havent had a great experience with their products, but their staff is awesome.

I live on the border of mass in enfield, so i do not get stuff from CT dispensaries, but i have had some flower from FF in manchester. It was meh at best. I find that cannaprovisions (chem dog’s store) with their smash hits brand is pretty tasty, although their prices are a bit higher. Resonate in north hampton has decent flower, as well does jack’s right down the road, and honey as well (although honey is getting to be as you describe). I got some really nice durban poison from Dazed in holyoke.

I guess it is hit or miss at best.

I don’t let my flower dry out too much and keep it in jars with 62% bovida/boost packs. I find if it dries out it becomes exactly what you describe.

Best flower in MA ive ever seen comes from the Heirloom Collective. Def worth going directly to their place to buy it, its near north Amherst. However, Maine is def where its at, nothing in the rest of new england will really compare.

Yeah I have the same problems in California, ever since it became recreational, all the different prepackaged brands and so much comes out dry flavorless harsh unexciting effects... You never know what you're getting I really need to be growing my own already, but that's another can of worms for me too

Massachusetts laws are written in a way that almost always is going to result in low quality product. The acceptable levels of certain bacteria/fungi is so low that in order to make normal properly grown weed pass, they have to perform remediation tactics like microwaving, spraying with H2O2, etc. Then they store the bud bone dry. This all results in terrible flavor and quality.

Then you have the fact that in order to get a license you need to front an ungodly amount of money that basically weeds out any small mom & pop businesses.

Maine's laws are the opposite, some of the best in the country.

This is why it's imperative to have full access to a robust "Caregiver" designed medical market functioning like Maine. It makes all the dif especially now as rec takes over.

Live in Northampton, MA. It is depressing because there are like 15 dispensariea in town and it is totally heat or miss. More miss really. Maine is too far but man does that system sound good in comparison.

No Durban Poison flower at Dazed currently on the site. Seems like a lot of Sativas are getting pushed out by faster higher yielding genetics. But on a good note, I did notice they have super silver haze and super lemon haze, so I guess I ll take a trip to Dazed soon to check it out. Have enjoyed the super lemon haze from Happy Valley that's almost gone.

My experience has been the same, overpriced, inferior product. The display cases show you some bullshit, the staff doesn't know much about the product half the time, and you walk through their crappy point-of-sale system (clunky website on a tablet) that lacks even as much as a description on the flower some times.

Most of the time, the employees had to read labels on the products in the back to be able able to give me more information (like what are the dominate cannabinoids or terpenes in this flower). It's so dumb, there have to be COAs for compliance with the state, why the hell can't I just read that on their dumb screen? Also, educate your employees, or find more passionate ones that are knowledgeable about the products.

I had one try to recommend me a low BDT "resin" cartridge over a rosin one because the BDT was a lighter color...

The flower I've had was never fresh, shame because sometimes it did look decent, but it was clearly over a year old and a harsher smoke. Was expensive too.

I remember the days when weed was first legal in Colorado, you could see and smell the buds in the jars, there weren't low limits on edibles. Sure, it was maybe a little irresponsible, but what a time to be alive!
