How does this beast stack up against thr tinymight 2 /venty/ solo 3 / any of thr other next gen vapes on the market? If one owns a tm2 is there anything thr p80 offers?
Would love to hear how it holds up in current year!!!!

I don't own one but it is very much equivalent to a Splinter Z on a Sinuous P80 mod which I do have. The Z is comparable in power to a TM and on the best days hits pretty much the same. The difference is the TM has a best day every day where the Z is temperamental and punishes you for not paying attention. Dropping and breaking your expensive cooling stem because you tipped it is no fun at all. I still carry the emotional scars :).

I imagine the same is true for the P80, it can be as good, or better than those other vapes, but is much less idiot proof.

I have a Tetra X. Flavour wise there are very few portables that taste better. In fact i would say flavour beats both the TM and Splinter.

Vapour production can beat a TM, but you have to have everything dialed in, and work it right. TM produces big clouds easier without the effort.

I did have a Tetra P80. Battery life was pretty bad. It never left the house anyway. So i sold it and bought the tetra X, with the 3 battery cuboid mod (tubo firmware compatible).

Have not used it for a while. My 2ZM has been covering the home portable spot. However i have just got a new chill steel pipe, and my tetrax might be getting a dust off.

I dont agree with it being similar to a Splinter.

Setting up the Tetra X, is more difficult. My resistance setting was a pain to dial in. Tetra X also needs a bigger warmup, and the form factor is differnt.

Would i recommend the Tetra X in 2024?
Considering the availability (Ralph has not made any for a while) and price 2nd hand - No.

However if you put these to one side, if you dont mind playing around with a vape to get the best out of it, the flavour is 2nd to none.

Price and availability aside, it still holds its own.

(sorry mods please merge)

Well there is already a thread comparing them, TM vs TP80, so nothing has really changed? Despite the obvious broad similarities, they are different in a variety of ways that should also be self-apparent?? I use them differently really though, I rely on tetra for quick one hitters through water, though I also have a nice GVB u-hook that allows lower temps dry well enough... TM2 is preferable for me dry, temp stepping from the bottom tiny bit by tiny bit, and I also have a really great GVB u-hook for that... Also GVB WPA for both that are nice, but you're fine with anything plain and a basket screen through a separate hook too or other dry glass... Tetra is best cruising for heat soak with its heater, I always keep it upside down, removing it to clear each hit fully, can keep it running for the next hit if back to backin...

Venty and Solo 3 are more different with more session hybrid conduction? Tetra, like TM, is pretty pure convection on demand, and also more artisan simplicity of course
