Hey fellow vapers,
thinning out the herd further and now it’s down to a rare and sexy spalted birch butane vape:
The ROOTS by NordicVejp in a modded version with some nice accessories.
It has only seen very light use as I rarely use butane vapes – I don’t like to play with fire too much and have a bunch of 18650 vapes…
Anyway, it’s in great condition and literally better than new as it's been optimized, not only cosmetically: Buffed it with some nice lemon wax/oil mix to pop the grain even more, added basket style screens to cover the steel wool part near the heating element (it gets messy otherwise due to small particles getting in contact with those wool fibres… first thing I improved right after receiving it), the other basket screen is installed on the mouthpiece end side and acts as a bowl - it is nicely adjustable (just push it out or in to change bowl size - like the Milaana/Zion or similar to the VapCap) and won’t fall out like the wonky original mesh screen.
Besides two mouthpieces (standard and twisted) I bought some MFLB accessories and mouthpieces and made another longer mouthpiece stem that connects the main unit with silicone. It has a very good seal and holds the stem much better than the bare standard glass pieces (and if it took a fall, it’s wrapped with another piece of silicone on the mouthpiece end to absorb the shock). The added length helps to cool down the vapor considerably – I didn’t like the short stock vapor path, too hot for my likings.
Please note: there's a small hairline crack on one end of the MFLB glass tube, it does not affect usage nor performance and is also protected by the silicone.
I fiddled around and also made a 14mm waterpiece adapter, which is included too – also medical grade silicone, o-ring and borosilicate glass. It connects nicely and snugly to your fav 14mm waterpiece – or perfect combination for dry hits on a j-hook (see picture – j-hook is NOT INCLUDED)
On top I’m adding an orange wooden Kombobox by lamart (our great tubo guy J ) – I had to sand down the inner edges slightly to make the Roots unit fit and being able to close and lock the lid. It holds all the accessories included in a separate compartment.
