Rosin - Heat Press

Hi guys,

I know some make Rosin with hair straighteners, but I was thinking of trying with a proper press.

Would any ole heat press do the job, such as these?

The top one looks very much like the D-Nail, but at a fraction the price.

Is it even worth messing about with a heat press to make rosin?

These are good for folks not able to get enough leverage on their hair straighteners.

In terms of pressure applied, you wont get dramatically different results until you head into the presses using a vice or hydraulics.

Well firstly I don't have any hair, so no hair straighteners ;)

Seriously though, what makes good rosin, more pressure, less heat?

With one of these presses you can digitally control the heat where as straighteners you can't

I'm thinking of making some rosin e-juice and getting a dab pen for out and about, but have no idea what I'm doing or if it is even worth it?

I have concerns dissolving my rosin into e-liquids, so perhaps there is a better vaporiser method for consuming rosin.

All input greatly received.

Yes, with more pressure, you can lower the temps compaired to a hairpress and get different consistencies, more terps.

Also, some hair iron are digitally controlled. LOOF brand for one.

I'm sure you have seen the rosin tech thread, advanced one hitter and the secret thc- ecig thread. Tons of info in those three threads.

Personally, I make my own Ti coils with fc2000 wicks, on a temp controlled evic.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm looking into @Joel W. thread on the vice. I need to get a proper setup. Asked for the newest setup and will post here once I get a response.

@mixchu69 Well in the interim, before I have even made any concentrates, I just bought a dab pen from vapefiend.

Will be interesting to see how this may work and was even wondering if you could make rosin from ABV?

I like having new toys to play wit, especially if they can get me medicated stealthily!

@smokum Not bad, $1,000 is still not cheap when you have to factor in shipping costs, but still far cheaper than this...

Which costs $3,500 :o

My actual press in the end cost me $455 USD, it was the shipping that stung me nearly doubling the price $345 USD and then getting hit with import tax @ £135.00 GBP

Still worth it though :science::leaf::rockon:

If you seek reliable, I'd recommend buying Dabpress as they have exceptional support. You will not find that buying from Alibaba or from other shitty discount vendors.
