I've had mine for about 4 years now and I use it often, but I'm wondering how long it's safe to keep it powered on while it's not in use. I did read the official FAQ and it says something like, in general, only have it on if you're using it. But most of the time I use it, it's on for a good 4 hours because I never think to shut it off because I fill up bags probably once every 30 minutes or so. I've actually left it on overnight at least twice by mistake where it was on for a good 7 hours and I really thought I had burned out the heat mechanism inside or something but it's still working well. I'm just going to start shutting it off when in between bags because it really doesn't take that long to heat up, I use it on the 5 1/4 line, and I want it to last. Plus I use the large turkey bags which are much bigger than the standard size official ones. I'm just curious if people shut it off once they've filled the bag or if they leave it on. I always just thought it was better for the volcano to stay powered rather than being turned on and off every 30 minutes roughly.
