Hello all,

My first post, so first up many thanks to the dedicated contributors and moderators of FC!
I really do appreciate your time and advice.

backstory:
I'm a mid 30s australian bloke.
Haven't smoked in many years due to asthma.
Vaped at a friends recently (volcano), and was surprised to find my lungs/larynx/sinuses completely open up.. I just went zen-like.. slept very well that night.
So, it's time for me to get a vape of my own.

I've narrowed it to
Vapolution for pureness: $160 delivered to australia.
Herbalaire for sturdiness: $235 delivered to australia
Extreme Q for versatility: $220 from local authorised seller/repairer
Arizer Solo (2014ver) for portability: $220 from local authorised seller/repairer

Please provide suggestions/advice based on:
Manufacturer:
Must be a reputable, quality vape.
Prefer a very pure output of the medication.

Delivery:
Bag I've heard is gentler.. whatever is best for the lungs (undecided)
I will almost always be using it on my lonesome, in my loungeroom.

Efficiency:
I will be using very small amounts as I get affected easily.
And I will use it only once every 2nd day or so.
So, it's important the device can work efficiently with small amounts.

Temperature control:
I've read specific temp. may benefit medicinal vaping.
Therefore, should I focus on those that have a digital temp display?

Price:
I'm poor, but quality is important.

Stealth:
Doesn't matter

Learning curve:
Doesn't matter

I am open to all suggestions.
I will just have to check their australian price/availability.

Hey mate. Sounds like you want a desktop model. I would say that the Enano is far superior to the vapes you mentioned. are you sure you want bags? Using a water bubbler is very pleasant. I would suggest you get an Enano with a gong plus a. cheap bubbled from China. It is also very efficient and will save your bud.

Solo is also good and can be used either plugged in or portably.

Hi people, thank you for your suggestions.

I added the Arizer Solo to my list and will look into it more.
It has an authorised aussie seller/repairer, with aussie power-plug.
The idea of portability, while not needed, is growing on me a little.

The Enano I am initially less enthusiastic about but I will look further into it, and people's feedback on it.

I am unsure yet which delivery system I really need yet.
My lungs are very sensitive to smoke particles (cig smoke especially but also traffic etc).
But, I had only a great reaction from the bagged volcano.
That's why I think I lent that way, unsure if direct delivery will be as pure/great for me.

Welcome!

I would suggest you start with the Airizer solo - it's good for use at home and out and about. Then you can upgrade to a nicer desktop vape when you're ready for one.

The Enano is a VERY powerful vape for the price. It's a bit of a pain since you'll need a power converter. But there are quite a few from the land of Oz who have the nano and love it.

If you thought the bagged vapor from a Volcano was nice, I suggest you consider vaping through water filtration. I find vapor too dry these days, and usually vape exclusively through water.

My fear* with the Solo is that I understand you need to inhale long/slow/deeply.
I guess this brings back memories of Combustion and all the irritation that went with it.
(May I just say while I am here.. FUCK COMBUSTION)

However, perhaps water filtration will help ease/control the Solo inhale.

Could I expect similar purity/smoothness from water filtered Solo compared to a bagged Volcano?

I am now certain that purity/smoothness/health is my top priority..
Also, I can only afford/justify getting one device really.

I hope I don't come across as too pedantic.
Well, I probably am, but that comes with the territory of being a chronic asthmatic I think.

Most vapes require a slower draw/inhale to achieve optimal vaporization (If you rip it hard like smoking a bong, you will cool the heater too fast and the vapor production stops). Very few vapes have enough heat to pull as hard as you want - the Enano is one of those high powered vapes (when it reaches temperature). I can literally hand my Nano to someone and have them rip it.

Do yourself a favor, go into the portable or plugin section of this site, and click the "Replies" or "views" header text to sort the entire section by number of replies.

Look at the top vaporizers on the list. There's a reason those vapes are listed at the top - not all of them are "perfect" - but each has their strengths and weaknesses.

I'd say half of the people who visit this forum have the exact same intentions in mind - health! Most of us won't ever consider shitty vapes made from unhealthy materials. Some of us prefer an all "glass on glass" vapor path, others do not. (Stainless steel and food grade silicon are also considered safe for the vapor path)

I suggest you look for a vaporizer in the $150 to $250 USD range to start (probably up to $300 AUD given the current conversion rates, right?).

The Solo is the king of the portables right now. Look - over 2 MILLION views and almost 30,000 replies on that one thread alone!

herbalAire! I use mine like a log vape, with a Planet Vape gong. Put the gong on bubbler, flip HA upside down and on top of gong, then rip away.

It is very medical with the way its temp ranges are set up. Other vapes you can combust at max temp, which can be useful, but not possible with the HA. As well, there is much less "burnt popcorn" flavor when using the HA, this happens when bowls get dark brown or even close to black. For me as a headache prone person, that kind of vapor can induce headaches.

The vaping experience is unparalled IME so far as you can actually put unground nugs in the bowl and vape them 99% evenly without having to stir (grinded up works too, produces larger clouds). It is the "set it and forget it" vape of the vape world. It doesn't singe the top of the buds like other vapes would if you kept hitting it without stirring, not sure how this magic is achieved but it may have something to do with the airflow setup/way the small holes arranged.

It's not the prettiest vape in the world, especially when sitting on the gong upside down with its base light pointing upwards (that light is cool tho, it adjusts in a color range to show if it's at temp). It also won't produce the biggest clouds in the world (although I'm sure a ground up bowl at 400 would be pretty milky). What it does do is produce a large amount of consistent, nice flavor, medicating vapor and doing so while being very easy to use.


The Daisy as others have mentioned is another I might recommend. I haven't used it personally but the large amount of airflow looks to me like it would give several good sized hits of flavorful vapor before the bowl turns dark brown. One drawback is that it can't be used with water filtration in its current design afaik, this may change with the release of something modular to attach to it or a v2, etc.

Doesn't matter if the medicine touches the element if the vaporizer was designed to touch the element (like the Underdog log vape). Or conduction based vapes which heat an "oven" which makes physical contact with the medicine (heat radiates throughout the load)

I had a box vape similar to the one in your picture (it was my first "vape") - hated it, didn't convince me to stop combusting. I ended up giving it away after it sat on my shelf for 5 years.

Cost doesn't correlate to performance. I have a $100 vaporizer that can outperform vaporizers I own which cost 2.5 times more.

Take some time to read around on this site, there's a formal thread for every vaporizer on the market, I suggest you find the one for our vape and read the past 10-20 pages of comments.
