While fishing through the Carolinas, I realized we were within close proximity and had to make a visit.
A few pros and cons... where do I start?
First, it is incredibly convenient if you happen to be getting lost in the woods; but otherwise I would say it is a trip for most people. They have a captive market being the only shop and a casino nearby.
Staff/budtender was friendly but fucking green, lacking real knowledge and arguably complete novice. I hate getting paired with someone who does not do concentrates. But, they have tons of bud tenders/registers and lots of floor space so there was no line at all. Perhaps they have other budtenders with more experience.
The store, The Great Smokey Cannabis Company was clean and has a convenient drive through with multiple windows. Inside reminded me of Vegas dispensaries. Display cases are out with what appears to be fake product, but you cannot see/ touch/ smell anything. Product selection is still shit, the budtender blamed both the selection and the pricing on the hurricane damage.... she suggested flower prices were going to come down, but time will tell. I doubt prices drop within the next 24-36 months, they have no competition for Rec in the entire state.
There were maybe 7-8 concentrates. Shatters, crumbles, sugar and waxes- no hash nor hash rosin on the menu. I tried three and will report back on quality and flavor later. They were $25/ half g. The flower prices were worse and even fewer selections. $200-220 per half o, and that is the limit they will sell on Flower. Ironically, the limit on concentrates seems to be astronomical. The lady said I could purchase up to 40+ g's!
I was optimistic for better pricing, especially on flower.
I was curious to try the flower, but am not a repeat buyer for flower at this price. It is unaffordable.
The concentrates so far have been better than I anticipated, but I had LOW expectations. To my pleasure, they are fresh and arguably more flavorful than many of the hash rosins I tried in Vegas.
The program is straight forward but longwinded. Check in and get sent to a register. Everything is ordered on a tablet, then you are directed to the cashier, then you are directed to the order pickup window. Annoyingly, each of these steps is accompanied by tip jars everywhere. I tipped the bud tender as usual, but did not anticipate tipping the cash register window nor the pickup window and I did not tip those as I was out of cash.
I'll post up a review of all the product later...
