Hey everyone, i hope someone out there can help me.

I recently bought a couple of vaps off ebay.

Both are the Vapor prince VP-901 110V series.

The 1st one i bought i had no problems with at all, and gave to a friend.

Now the 2nd one i bought, i had running about full temp for 30 mins, to burn off the excess oils. But even after that time, the oily burn off was still very very strong. Even hours later, after i turned down the temp some, the smell remained.

Does anyone know what this is? Does this sound like anything you guys have heard of before?

Possibly something burning. I think you got a cheap knock off vape where these types of issues have been generically reported/feared. Sorry.

Did ebay seller give you any type of warranty?

He went ahead and sent out another one free of charge, but its doing the same thing. I took a quick dry rip of it, without inhaling of course. Tastes like that weird shit. Its vaps4less on ebay, hes not almost 0 begative comments so its really weird that this happened twice to me. Especially since the 1st one worked perfecty!

Smell is coming directly from the heating source. Even off, the next day i can smell it.

The way i see it, since i only payed $40, and i now have 2 vaps with whips, i dident Really lose much, but it still sucks not bein able to vap properly.

They are vap princes in the original box, they sell em online aota different vap sites. But im sure they are inferior to alota vaps.

Any methods you know of to turn a whip vape into a decent vape just by its self?

Thanks for the response!

I have no idea how to use just the whip. Not sure you easily can.

check around the forum on different vapes and see which type of vape appeals to you and we can help you better if your looking at different vapes. If you want a quality vape in my opinion I would look to spend from 100-150ish range or so unless you go with a lighter based vape.

Sorry for your vaporizer issues.

The problem is in the guts of the vape, and there's no way around that. You might try running it non-stop at a high temp setting for an extended period, like days, and see if the smell goes away. You could also try to continue to deal with the seller about the problem, especially if the first one you bought has no bad odor.

This is the type of problem you're likely to see with the cheap box vapes on eBay. They're pretty much all digital, even though that feature compromises reliability in this price range, and the numbers on display aren't accurate. You use 'em for a reference point and that's about it.

The good box units in the lower price range are not digital. They have analog dial controls. The good models also have a manufacturer you can contact-websites preferably, but at least a phone #. If you want to be sure you're getting a quality vape, use the dealers we recommend in this thread- http://www.fuckcombustion.com/viewtopic.php?id=2463 If you absolutely have to get a cheap digital unit, I'd go with the Easy Vape. It has a 5 yr. warranty when sold by on-line dealers at $150. You can get one on eBay for $60, but I'm not sure you'll really get that 5 yr guarantee at that price, despite what the seller may say. At least it's a model that the maker is willing to stand behind for an extended period when sold at $150.

Thanks for the help guys. He hasnet gotten back on whether hes gona ship the original model, and at this point i wont eave a negative comment cause he has worked with me pretty well.

Max, could you maby explain a little more? Im planning to open one of these up and take a look inside, anything specific i should keep an eye out for? BTW this is an analog vap if that helps at all. Ill check out that easy vap too! Appreciate it!

So as of now I gave he vap to my friend and hes gona "air" it out... by using it. Whatever, hes a dumb ass, i explained to him very carefully why he shouldent do this. Hope he doesent die tho... should i let him be this stupid?

Lets be realistic he is not going to just die from using a vaporizer, using a questionable product could have potential health problems but would probably take a while before they notice anything. I will add that there has been no confirmed cases of a vaporizer hurting anyone, so the warnings you hear from people are just spread from hearsay and people that would rather be safe than sorry.

Well, it's something the unit's heating element is affecting. Could be the heater itself. Personally, I wouldn't mess with it. If a burn in period at a high temp doesn't eliminate the smell, you're probably not gonna be able to fix it without spending more $ than it's worth.

BTW this is an analog vap
I knew it was one of the cheapies by that VP prefix (they need to use some imagination with those model numbers  ), but I just assumed it was digital. Seems like all the cheap ones are digital now. I just did a search and this model is in the running for cheapest vape ever. I can get it from US Global Imports for $26 with free shipping. Your eBay seller may be paying half that for 'em. Even if the smell goes away, I'd rather use a $50 Vapor Genie.

The problem with the stinking vaporizer is it is a cheap piece of crap. I assure you the smell is a toxic blend of plastics and metals. The solution: throw it in the trash and buy a quality vaporizer.

Do not buy an Easy Vape like earlier suggestions. Easy Vape aka Easy Tech is not a reputable company; If you can't contact the company, you don't get a warranty.

How about a VB or SSV?

Yea i refuse to use the thing as is, but its not a total loss!

I took the glass shell off the heating source, and as using it as a kinda of portable vap. Works great with a lighter or torch. Ill save the whip too, but the rest im just gona toss.

Im glad this forum was around!

Take it easy everyone!

badlmixture,
.. the reason why your smoking a vaporizer is too not burn it. cause of carbon monoxide, carcinigens, and toxins.. thats probably the smell.
the high settings purpose, i think, is to heat it up faster. :2c:

If this were true then any vape operating in the high temp range would have the same smell. High temp toxins don't stink. They're pretty much odorless.
