First part is a good question. Yes is the answer to the second part.

The ophos looks more like a traditional ecig, but the Omicron light has better electronics that can handle loads a little bit better.

So... $70 gets you the Omicron Light and a KISS cart... That's an excellent price point, especially since kanthal wire is really cheap and you'd only have to replace the KISS if it breaks.

Edit: question: is 6 wraps all that's necessary for the KISS rewiring? What's the acceptable ohms range?

The ophos 1.5 ohms - 5.0 ohms being that 5 ohms will get you nothing.

The Omicron Lite can work with 1.3 ohms and up.

As for coil wrapping that's up to you. It is pretty easy to rebuild our kiss carts. No other style cart like this is this easy. If you can take apart all other comparable carts you will see that there is a lot more then you think that is inside that they are leading you to believe. Like the nickel material that surrounds the ceramic bowl, solder, and in most cases glue since it's not rebuildable.

Unfortunately these type of carts are consumable, since we can not verify how hard they are driven we can predict the life of the cart. If you need something more durable I would suggest the Hercules Sr71with a Persei.
