Mighty vs minivap

From what I've read in the Mighty and Mini threads, the opinions seem to be split down the middle but both vapes seem to be going thru some growing pains right now (MV just made some recent changes)

Hi,
First off, the Mighty is a very nice vape, probably in the top 10 or maybe top 5 models out there. I just feel the mV is above it in most comparison factors.

I've had a head to head comparison of the two ( my miniVAP and buddy's Mighty) and even the Mighty owner agreed that the miniVAP beat the Mighty on about 10 out of a dozen areas like:
- taste mV pure conduction and built in laminar airflow make for best taste of any vape I've ever use..period

- versatility mV so versatile, almost unlimited combinations. It can convert from straight draws to bubbler in 3 seconds

- perceived construction materials/quality of plastic vs aluminum. mV ahead. Mighty uses super high grade plastic but not machined aluminum

- efficient use of herbs--most effect with minimal herb. mV most efficient , maybe tied with e-nano. Mighty gets you good and medicated but takes more herb.

- makes big clouds. Mighty might win here. Seems like mv makes less visible clouds BUT gets you higher.
Maybe Mighty does bigger clouds because it has part convection heat??

- stands upright by itself. Only mV. What was S & B thinking??

- time between needing a cleaning. mV gigantic winner here. with wire basket loads it almost never needs cleaning. Mighty needs cleaning every 10?? uses--easy to do but pain in the arse

- ease of loading herb/ no need for special loading tool. mV has the wonderful baskets with a snap on cover that can be loaded elsewhere--easy. Mighty cannot stand up by itself for easy loading/ needs their special tool to carry--you can just load by hand though

- ability to run via battery or AC. Only mV with accessory AC puck. Superb desktop
S & B says Mighty can run while on charger but:
A. it cannot keep up with the discharge rate and
B. all info on Li-Ion batteries says it shortens battery life to charge / discharge at the same time, especially for high draw discharge.

- ability to swap batteries yourself vs send back to manufacturer. mV. You can buy extra battery too. When Mighty battery sraps out in future you need to send in for replacement

- Mighty max temp is only 410 F vs miniVAP 437 F. I'm just guessing Mighty with convection might combust at 437 F?? mV never combusts

- pure convection vs convection/conduction combo. mV ABV lat 437 looks lighter brown than Mighty aBV at 410 F but mV gets every last goodie out

- The Mighty has a slick dig display but why not higher temp capability? It has the super wow factor and that is cool. Nice to have setting for any temp (up to 410) BUT miniVAP 4 heat choices cover the entire needs.

- Battery life. mV has longest in the business. Mighty good battery life but not as long

That said, the Mighty is still an excellent, probably top 5 or top 10 vape.
It has the wow factor, has the newest vape out there factor, is well designed but I just think the miniVAP is the better vape for most people--but everyone has different wants/needs. The super techy might think the Mighty is the hot ticket.

Both are pricey.

These opinions are also true for several vaping buddies. They all like the Mighty a lot, but LOVE the miniVAP.

Almost there...
I do not own the Mighty but have the Crafty and they are supposed to have the same output.

I prefer the MiniVap over my Crafty every time!
Flavour and effect are outstanding every time.
A small basket lasts a long time with flavour to the end.
Almost no cleaning!!!

I find the Crafty to blend the flavour and most of the finer notes are missing totally.
I find it to have a robust flavour that suits certain strains.
Get into quality bud and the MiniVap shines!!

Oh and super quick to connect to a WT!
And 3 hour battery life!

If you are talking home/desktop use, I prefer the minivap for a number of reasons. Flavor and efficiency are just better, and it requires almost no cleaning. My “cooling unit” is a boro j hook.

But Mighty is much more convenient to use as a real portable outside/on the go.

Hi, just wondering for the future just in case, if someone didn't like the taste (and possibly effects) from the popular vapcap and Pax units, would they still like one of these miniVAP?

S & B says Mighty can run while on charger but:
A. it cannot keep up with the discharge rate and
B. all info on Li-Ion batteries says it shortens battery life to charge / discharge at the same time, especially for high draw discharge.

This part doesn't apply to the Mighty, and it applies to vapes like the Crafty instead with it's USB charging.
The Mighty uses the 12 volt 3 amp adapter to power a 36 watt heater each time it's heating up, and switches to topping up the battery in between heat cycles.
This means when you use the feature with low battery, the battery cycles between charging and resting. And operation is unaffected by discharge rate or battery condition.
Some people may also advise against doing this too often but it's not as bad as cycling the battery between charging, and powering the vape, like on other portables.

If your battery is already full, it cycles between using the adapter to power the heater, and doing nothing while the heater is off. So you could leave a Mighty plugged in for life if you don't really care about the batteries dying from high charge level!
Or if you're wise you can use the adapter a lot, and still take care of your batteries.

IMO big makers often use this system to make it less technical to explain or operate everything,
I think there are some people that would find it easier to understand and operate the Mighty charger than the true pass through power supply feature of say an early Arizer Solo, along with charging and taking care of the batteries..

I would not recommend the Mighty. It's overpriced and a weed hog to boot. Haven't tried a MiniVap. Are you planning to buy one or the other?

Man I don’t know why I always seem to forget about the minivap. If only there was a vaporizer rental program!

I am unaware of any rental place. There are at least a few vendors who will accept a return. Depending on a lot of factors there may be a re-stocking fee.

I don't think that a vape website would accept too many returns from the same buyer.

I'm quite sure that if you purchase from MV and are not happy with it, they will work with you and allow you your money back. At least that was the case for me a while back. Great people!

Weed hog? The bowl is barely bigger than a Dynavap, even more so when dosing capsules are used.

That's true dude, and there is the liquid pad too. However without dosing capsule or liquid pad I personally found it only worked well packed with like .25g. I never found the capsules to provide a satisfying experience, but realize that i'm in the minority.

Regardless, the MV obliterates the Mighty for flavour, although I actually preferred the Mighty overall. I still think that the MV is a much better vape for many purists. It's the only vape i've used that made herb taste like actual CANDY!
