Just a trend I've noticed.

Do you consider yourself an experienced vape user and do you prefer bag or whip?

I am new to vaping but combusted for over 40 years. I selected a Da Buddha after researching here and other places on the web. I really enjoy vaping compared to combusting. Since I introduced my group to vaping several members have purchased their own as well as a group Da Buddha purchase. That being said I also own a Flight box and it has been a disappointment, I wish I had bought a Solo.

VAPE ON!

Dont give up on the mlfb I find it to be a very hard hitter if used right atleast as good as my mates LSV, just takes the right batteries and a bit practice.

If restricted to a single home vape, I'd choose the HI or e-nano with an all glass stem (for free flowing vapor with the larger air path), since you can add water filtration for variety, but I'll always prefer both a log type vape for convenience/ease of use, along with a big hitter, preferably set up with water filtration.

I'm with Max on choosing a log vape if given the choice of only one. I use a UD and I must add that the efficiency is a great trademark of a log vape - i'm constantly surprised at the clouds I am able to make with very little material.

Been vaping for 2 years now, had the EQ first, got over the bags quickly, was strictly whip until I got a nice glass waterpipe to run it through. Then I moved onto the LSV and will never go back to whip, all WPA or dry vapors from a glass wand

I'm not completely new to vaping but I still consider myself a newbie because I have yet to own my own. I've vaped out of a whip a bag and a log. I've also vaped with bongs attached to a whip out of an EQ and Buddha. I prefer the bag, because the biggest drawback about vaping for me is the way you have to hit a whip, and although it sounds silly, I'm rather impatient. I think it is because I'm so used to combustion, and since most of the experienced vaporizers here prefer the whip, my opinion may change

I find whips to be a much faster method compared to bags, for instance the Buddha can be kept on all day ready to vape delivering a heavy hit thru a bong in seconds. Where as a bag you have to heat it, blow the bag, then inhale a bag of of potentially much less dense vapor (usually less flavorful) then what a whip can deliver. In session bags can be passed around easily, but as a whole are a more time consuming process Ime.

To each their own of course, but I don't always have lots of time to vape and could imagine having to wait to blow a bag every time I needed to medicate.

I don't understand what you are impatient about with whips that you aren't with bags? :hmm:

One other thing, most people will prefer whip over bags, but most who prefer whip over bags also prefer direct draw over whip.

You could organize some factors in a descending order:

Taste:

- direct draw > whip > bag (just because the bags have to be squeeky clean which they usually aren't and then they taste a bit stale according to people who used them; otoh, the whip leaves some taste too)

Thickness of the Hit:

- direct draw > whip > bag

Efficiency:

- direct draw > whip > bag ( not sure here since i don't know where there is more condensation of THC, whether bags or whip.. the bag has more surface but the whip is much narrower)

Ease of Use:

- Bags > whip & direct draw (this is very much subjected to each vaporizer.. but usually bag vapes are more user friendly)

Cleaning:

- Direct draw > whip > bags (this is also subjected to each vape but there is a tendency still)

As you can see, my evaluation clearly shows several advantages in key factors of direct draw over the others. The main disadvantage of direct draw IMO is the hot vapour in your lungs and what too much of that hot vapour can do to your throat and lungs.

Good points Vor. Another reason bag vapor tends to suffer from taste is that its usually extracted mostly all at once at higher temp so your flavorful terpenes are diluted with excess air and that popcorny taste when you get into the high temps. So unless your blowing a low temp and high temp bag the flavor ime has been....meh

You guys make a good point I never really took the fact you have to wait for the bag to fill up into consideration. Reason is because I was at a party and walked into a room as a friend passed me a bag when I first tried it. I guess I'm using the wrong word when I say impatient, I vaped with a whip for a very long time before I even had the opportunity to try a bag and when I did I felt like it was sort of a relief compared to taking slow long hits from a whip.

Again this is coming from someone who doesn't vape very often, but combustion will soon be a thing of the past for me except on the occasion I don't have a vaporizer available. As inexperienced as I am with vaporizing, I will most likely change my mind about the bag.

If you're used to combusting, you will appreciate the thick hits you can get with direct draw and also the milky hits you can get using water filtration. If you still want to give bags a try, perhaps a Herbalaire or EQ would be a good choice. That way, you can still try the other methods and you're not constrained by the vape.

EQ is definitely something I'm looking to purchase in the future. I'm not as picky as I sound though, and will easily adapt to what seems like the best vaporization method. I'm currently waiting on the Ascent to come out and be reviewed before I make my first choice because I'd like a portable vaporizer. The Solo also sounds like a very appealing beginner/portable vape because of all the rave it has gotten here at FC, only issue is that I'm leaning torwards something that will fit in my pocket.

This should be a discussion about methods of vaporization and types of vapes, not specific models. This is the General Vaporization section, not Ask FC. Please stay on topic.

i prefer direct-draw vaporizers in general. Whips come in second - a very close second depending on what models we're talking about. Never tried a bag vape, but then there's just no motivation for me to do so. For me some perks are: 1) I enjoy the self-contained nature of most (all?) direct draw units. 2) Portability is pretty high in my priority list. 3) Using them with glass is just nifty. Sure it can be done with whip vapes... 4) Cleanup / Goo reclaim.

JedHI powers the concatenate female after an exciting pedant. Can vapor exit underneath JedHI? Should JedHI offend a smelly whistle? How does vapor intervene on top of JedHI?

While I do enjoy using my vapor pieces with glass, I think this also contributes to my "lung butter". I don't have the desire to give up glass long enough, however... to test my theory.

Is this a problem with primarily direct draw/whip users?

I've never had such a problem myself, but then i don't go through too much herb. Perhaps a half ounce a month. I use my solo with my minibong about half the time, the other half dry. The whip vape only comes out once in a while, as a special occasion or backup vape.
