Is this a good buy for someone who wants tasty dabs

Seeing as a unbranded carb cap and quartz nail together runs $40 in a local smoke shop, then personally no it's a very bad value to me.

If you want to pay for the logo and brand name stuff then, sure its a good deal I suppose.

but aren't these unbranded items of less quality? I want something that will last a long time also you're right it is preTty expensive
do you have a link to anything in that $40 price range

Hey flyinglow, is the castle a style of nails?

Yes, google domeless quartz castle, it is the style of nail you linked to.

Most quartz castles will cost you $35-45 shipped, unless buying from a Chinese dealer or Ebay reseller. You can find them for less, but it is right about retail IMO.

I've literally never had any smoking device "wear out" on me. Everything winds up dropped by a friend long before said lifespans become apparent, or it gets replaced and upgraded by then.

I also have yet to meet anyone in person who has worn out any nail style nail by correct normal use only, they like me either have a mistake and break it or upgraded on their own.

So I literally have to come to the assumption that brand name snobs have perpetuated the whole "if it's not brand name it will wear out fast" myth. Or that they treat their brand name stuff nicer and thus it obviously lasts longer. Or they are true morons who buy $1 stuff from new un-reputable sellers with shit quality control then proceed to blame the product when it was a QC issue in first place.

Sure does some guy on the interwebz claim X? No doubt but look on the net for a few minutes and you'll find morons who try to convince us that the moon landing was fake, that the holocaust never happened and that 1 puff on some bud will make you a homosexual crazed murderer.

Green buddah shop has a fair selection of quartz stuff, including a nail like the one you had picked. However you really should e-mail them and confirm that the quartz carb cap they have does fit it first tho.

The quartz banger I got from them has been fine for me so far, it has even has been dropped a foot or so onto a marble table twice (once while hot.) Good QC.

I think I'll go with the one I posted a link to. I dok t want to go through the possibility of having a carb cap that isn't the right size and honestly it looks like it's good quality even if the price is kinda high.I like to buy quality things within a reasonable price and I think this fits that bill

I never dab much but it's always been ti for me. I'm a flavor snob so it sound alike quartz is the way to go !

In your opinion does the carb cap help produce more vapor?I've never used one before

As long as you are happy, then that's all that really matters.

Quartz is really tasty and if you've been on TI only in the past be ready for a new level (IMO)

A carb cap does 2 things when you use it for low temp dabs that help with effect and flavor.

1: it acts like a little oven, taking the low temperature from 1 side and re-radiating it from another angle kinda working like an oven this makes more even temperature dispersal.

2: the small air intake is usually set at an angle that helps to force the vapor into a more dense cloud.

Yes, a carb cap does help with creating more vapor and also improving taste since you can now use lower temperatures effectively.

I am highly suspect that the products they are selling on that website are not American made. here is a very similar website that I ordered my enail and quartz domeless from. you can compare the style of website and see they have to be related.
all of my stuff came directly from China. .. http://gimido.bigcartel.com/product/best-quality-enail-with-coil
same exact enail, element, and nail.

Hopefully I am posting this in the appropriate thread...

I am new to all the glass methods for dabbing and just received my first quartz nail. It was only $17 from ebay, Dab Philosophy.

Is there a way to tell if its true quartz? I've seen videos where they heat it up then dunk it in water to see if it cracks. Is this a recommended way of testing if it's true quartz?

I posted this in the Glass 101 thread a day ago with no response. Can someone here answer my inquiry?

only way I know is to heat the fuck out of it.
if it's glass it'll melt at 1050f,
if it's quartz it'll hold its shape till 1700f.
I would not recommend dunking it in water when hot. you are correct 100% pure silica quartz should not break if it's hot and put into cold water. I wouldn't want to take the risk that its 98%
