I like the hustle. But, the industry is not evolved enough to build up a trained and dedicated workforce yet. They're still "right sizing". To be fair, I suspect most discussed in the article are not top gun STEM-types. It's just that, at the end of the day, internships are not the standard.
Out of curiosity, what country are you in? If the U.S., it would be interesting to see if a company COULD do an internship (Where the intern is paid less than minimum wage.) in the cannabis industry. I don't know if the requirements could be met in an "illegal" business. The feds can enforce wage laws (

The company would have to craft something that would come up against a lot of laws that really does not have enough of a upside chance of success to accept the downside risk if things are not right.
