How to find a friendly neighbors cool with outdoor use?

Sittin in my living room, listening to soul this Sunday afternoon. I moved into a situation that by happenstance had cool neighbors. But, it’s lovely outside and our family may grow soon and need more space.

One of the current top deal breakers is finding some place with an outside spot to listen to my musicand chill.

Is this just as simple as having an honest conversation with neighbors before moving to close? How do y’all negotiate this? Am mostly afraid of moving in and finding out I just committed to a mortgage next to a secret Karen with sympathetic police. If people want cannabis free communities, cool. I just want to know so I can find friendlies.

I know I can’t control a Karen moving in at a later time, but that’s a different problem.

While I’m super happy to use indoors, there’s just that lifelong deck-dream I’ve had. I really want to be my full self in my yard. Warm weather is currently too short, and yeah, I don’t have to explain this joy dream, right?

I’ve never done anything other than rented and only really started using in the last couple years. Should also note, there are geographical constraints for my family because of work. I live in a state legal for rec, and legal to use in private, but not public. I really don’t care much about law in this case, it’s more of a question of getting what I want out of life and being a good neighbor.

Run up a fence or hedge and you are on private property out of public view?
Don't turn your music up loud enough to disturb them anyways.......gotta be a good neighbor to have good neighbors.

For sure, that goes without saying. 1000% agree with you. My question is about tactics before choosing a property doe, and whatever can be done, albeit slight before am in that situation.

I used to give away home made canna oils to my neighbors, her daughter was going thru Chemo it sucks, was carte blanche after that. would be good to probe a bit.

you can play it subtle in casual convo and feel it out, with me they smelled it and the mother of the sick daughter actually came to me and asked about it, which was the funny part.
but i respect neighbors and try not to get in their biz too much, and if they are cool well then all the better.
