Homemade glass bottle vape

If you use a glass soda bottle and a torch lighter will that work as a vape if you put the weed in the bottle and light the bottom or side? Will it combust? Not sure if the heat will be to hot and combust. Ive done it on the stove before too.

I've heard the old style of using a light bulb. Technically the same principal but the glass is thicker so it's harder to control the heat.

I had on of these years ago. Same principle different design. It worked.....barely but not very well. It combusted about 75% of the time.
