this year 3 of our families got together for supper and we all shared the evening. I was sad that we were losing our tradition and there were a few people I wasn't really looking forward to see (I realize this makes me a bad person). but it was excellent! I got to reconnect with a few people, saw some familiar faces and was able to roam and wander. so while I missed my mom's bacon wrapped sausages... during the event they were not as missed because we were making new memories, and hopefully traditions
it kind of is much more what the spirit of what thanksgiving is all about anyways!
i was totally a shitty materialistic kid growing up and going to the mall was my idea of "fun" back in the day... and I am slowly turning into the person that I want to be. it's hard to break all the things (capitalist)society has taught me and I try to live a more humble life. I still like toys, but I'm working on it!
