Glass Help

Hello all I'm looking for a good glass bong up to $200 USD but would prefer them to be $100~. I am from australia and a pensioner ( disabled ) so my income is limited but I can do some saving as I'd like to have a few different bongs for various ASD reasons lol.

Edit: For vaping, I use a solo 3 from arizer & ocasionally use my TM2 with no bong so a 14mm Joint is needed.

Wanting something portable and 25-35cm so I can store it in one of my desk draws. idc about much else.

It would help others offer suggestions if you could describe your use case(s) and needs/wants from the glass piece. For example, for vaping, combustion, dabs, etc. Size, features, etc.

Hey! Thanks for the help I updated/edited to include I use a vaporizer.

It's more important to know what size or features you want. Finding something under 100 USD is easy when shopping chinese glass on dhgate.

The cheap high quality bubbler thread is a great start. Most have a 14mm joint, but you want to ensure the design has enough clearance for your vapes to fit. A midsized bubbler is plenty for most vaporizers. I have a big old medicali straight that is fun, but I almost never use it.

Given your location, I've avoided recommending any US sellers, though I like the quality on thickassglass pieces. Shipping from DHGATE will save you lots.

This is the best advice, there are helpful people in that thread.

But if you want an American piece that's reasonable and pretty perfect for most vaping, check out the Texas Hot Glass Sherlock Shredder at $150USD. It's thick and well-built, stable, low volume, has minimal diffusion for excellent flavor, is small enough for a drawer but cools well enough for a ball vape, and is modular for easy packing, cleaning, and for using different mouthpieces for different settings. If it is not your choice, then look for these attributes in the pieces you look at while shopping. They solve most vaporization cooling problems.

Yeah, this is more of a post for Ask FC if anything, but better to just search around in the glass threads here, even the Solo and TM threads, for suggestions... I don't know if you specifically want an actual bong, but there are much better glass pieces for these vapes available and you don't have to spend $100

I have been using a newer matrix sidecar bubbler from SAML glass on my solo 3 it cost about $65au from DH gates and it is available locally for about ~$100au express shipped

Always good to see a fellow Aussie join up here, one of the best value water pipes on DHGate would be the following,
But my favourites would be a rattle can, gooseneck or straight depending on the vaping position, recliner vs table,etc,
Even half broken(I got a spare but just can't throw this one out),
These are also great as you can get different percs and mouthpieces and they pull apart for easy cleaning in the dishwasher,
The rattle cans and Modular rig are 18/19mm so a drop down (18mm male to 14mm female would be needed,

Seems like everyone here has some good advice. Here's my 2 cents. I don't like the looks of the bend on the downstem on that rattler, it is somewhat constricted and may be a weak point. That said, if you seek durability it might be a good job to definitely avoid internal bends, and possibly external bends, making the Matrx Sidecar a solid choice for durability, IF the joints are good. That's another place to look in the picture, to see if the places where they welded the glass together looks wonky or not. There is more information to be had at https://www.reddit.com/r/chinaglass/ . There used to be a recommended rigs section but I don't see it anymore. I do remember that Stephenlmz was recommended in the past, as was /u/samlglass . I found Samlglass's shop on the profile, these all seem solid, that Stereo Matrix looks good to me, except for the bend. If you are talking about the rattle can, look at the second unit I posted, it only broke a piece off the base after taking a fall onto bare concrete and both survive being ultrasonic cleaned with no trouble. The glass is also quite free-flowing as there is no perc/diffuser at the end of the down tube. I have 2x sidecars (slightly different sizes) from Stevenmz and they are great with ball vapes and are quite nice but are not my favourites.:2c:

This piece?

26cm Tall Diffusion Pump Bong Hookahs ?​


It is saml glass (popularglass) which I have endorsed above, but I still don't like the joint where the downstem intersects the body on the way in, or where it bends at a 90 degree angle and goes down. It seems like there is unnecessary constriction at both of those places, which if nothing else will affect airflow slightly, and get clogged faster (ewww if you let it!) . If it did survive such a fall it must have been quite properly annealed!
