Does anyone know of any company that uses Glass Baskets to use as Dosing Capsules?

Alternatively if i can find Glass Basket that is around 18 mm dia. ? I can find plenty of bowls that are larger (~28 mm. 1 in)

and found these from Linx but i don't have a size. https://linxvapor.com/products/linx-dosing-capsule Anyone got a Linx with glass basket?? I haven't found a more descriptive name.

These capsules are not all glass but I find them nice so I thought I'd mention them. The cylinder is nice thick glass but the top and bottom are stainless. They're made for the Angus Enhanced and hold about 0.15g max. I'd say they're around 12mm diameter.

thanks for the post. I would have figured Angus too using a glass capsule
i do have some stainless steel baskets, but really want to try to see if i can find a bowl
nothing quartz either although i suppose that would be expensive.

Well, now that you mention quartz, Prrl Labs, who sold the Neo and are now unfortunately out of business, used to sell quartz capsules for their terp surfer. I think they were around 16mm and they seem to be what you're looking for. Don't know if it's easy to still find these but you could check the Prrl thread or maybe the classifieds too.

YES 16 mm would be workable for me. the problem i see is that i see i few that might work but none of them have dimensions which i really need.

I found this old post of my own asking about getting the capsules I just mentioned. Maybe the answer can help you.

It speaks of sourcing the appropriate diameter of borosilicate tubing and cutting the length you need to create capsules.

thank you so much for linking to that. I may be forced to do something custom. I remember in HS Chem class actually working with some glass tubing, cutting and flame sealing the cut edge. I don't recall now why we did, but it wasn't hard.

I love diamond glass cutting wheels and bits for making tubes cut to length or jhooks out of combustion pipes. Just make sure to have a spray bottle of water to keep the area liberally wet for lubrication and cooling. And go slow and use very little pressure. Take breaks often.

I skip flame sealing most of the time, but torching the surface until it glows works for me when I do.

No i decided to take a step back and found out every option that i could find in use were either too small or too expensive. I found these replacement crystal bowls that are mega strong and very inexpensive & will roll with that. Actually i have 3 materials line up. These quartz bowls, a Ti low tray & a Stainless Steel cage. I really want to try blind sampling tests to see if it matters between the 3.

Great advice! I just want to add that you should definately wear a decent mask. Inhaling silica powder is very very bad for your lungs.

Oh gosh yes. Always wear your PPE. I set up a shop vac hose poised right over the cutting area to evacuate most of the glass dust. That, or simply keeping the area wet, is crucial for eliminating the dust. That said, I always wear a proper respirator and glasses, plus latex gloves to keep it off my hands.

And always always always thoroughly clean the piece you cut afterwards. Usually dish soap liberally rinsed, then an ISO wash, then another rinse. Glass dust likes to stick to everything.

That being said, I believe I read that the dust inhalation is only in the mining of core materials. Once it's been made into glass the particulates aren't the same dangerous shape, even if it makes dust. In spite of this, early reports of dust in ball vapes from ball friction is a big reason why I avoid them entirely.
