It a small size ceramic heating element and it you can vape with it if you have a glass piece.. u just need to keep away from the bowl... I used a soldering iron in the past to vaporizer that way.. I got a 2 part gong bowl on my bong.. i removed the upper bowl http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/823/dsc1137d.jpg/ on this bong i put a screen in the stem and some herb on the wider part then i cover it with my gong bowl i put the soldering iron in the bowl or near the bowl.. and i used to achive results as tasty and milky as the DBV (ceramic element).. That is only 47$ and it can be easy used to vape.. also it is very small and stealth unit.. can be used in car ,when you are on travel its easy to put it in your baggage etc...
