Hello friends,

I'm working on some DIY concepts based around E-nail heating coils (the same type used in ball vapes)

One of the designs places the heating coil in the airpath, and I'm wondering what the general consensus is. Do good quality heating coils produce any off-flavours, or potentially dangerous elements/gases etc?

I see many of the ball vapes have an exposed coil quite close to the air intake, which makes me think they're totally fine, but thought I'd ask the community before proceeding any further with this concept.

Thanks in advance for your input, cheers!

Sounds fine to me

most ball injector vapes have exposed hot coil
any lethal fumes from coil drift up and down intake

no deaths yet from hot coil fumes...

Depends on the material of the heat coil. If something like Kanthal, some have bad reactions. Personally, I try to keep my airpath as pure as possible. That’s hard to do when using portable devices, my choice there would be stainless steel.

I tried finding the material of my Auber coil, on their site, but oddly couldn’t find any pertinent information. On my two devices using those coils, there are not in the airpath.
