Da Buddha Vaporizer or Extreme Q? Bag vs Whip - less time consuming?

Hello all, it's my first post, it's my birthday, and I'd like some advice.

I have Da Buddha Vaporizer but I dropped it a few times and I believe it has lost a lot of it's effectiveness. The vapor doesn't seem the same as it once was. I'll assume that dropping it was the cause of the problems.

Some things I don't like about DBV is herbs that fall into the heater. It really destroys the vape experience when that happens and is awful. Sometimes my herb will burn in the vape too, like there isn't a proper setting for it to not burn but still give good vapors.

Also, I feel that it takes forever to finish getting medicated with the DBV. The hits get me ripped but I will get like 50 hits and just sit there for hours trying to finish a bowl, when really I'd rather it would just be finished and I can relax. I'm sitting there for an hour finishing a bowl.

All of this has me considering the Extreme Q. I think with the bag/balloon method on the Extreme Q, that I may be able to vape in much less time than using the whip.

Another thing I like is that it is a digital vape that I can get a perfect temperature, and should be able to avoid combustion entirely.

Another consideration is just for me to stop vaping, since my DBV seemed to lose effectiveness. Since it's my birthday though I would rather order myself a present.

What do you all think?

Thank you very much

Happy Birthday! Many happy returns.

First, don't stop vaping yet

I'm not sure in my own opinion whether you would find the bags 'faster' as such. I don't use an EQ though, so bear that in mind. My bags are volcano bags, and I actually find them lighter than my thicker hitting SSV and I suspect that you might find them less satisfying if you're craving real clouds. It's more convienient though- you're not tied to the vape like with the DBV, which seems to be part of the issue. But I will say that they are noisy and my partner is always moaning about the TV interference.

Not sure how your DBV is less effective if it can still reach combustion? My SSV has deteriorated but it's the heater- and now needs to be turned up fully to work the best. If you're still setting a fire then it says to me that it's still kicking out the heat OK. Get in touch with 7th floor though if you think it's fucked and get it fixed.

I wouldn't get too hung up on temperature readings either- especially if using a whip- too many variables for it to be meaningful. And just because it's got a digital display doesn't necessarily mean that a heater is any better controlled or more consistent than in your DBV.

Assuming your DBV does still kick out enough heat, I'm not sure a new vape will leave you satisfied in this situation.

Maybe try a T-break a see how you tolerance holds up?

Well you were off to a good start, I agree with what tyler said ^ already, Im just adding ;)

Temperature displays really dont mean a lot at all, its simply a novelty that may end up hurting your decision in the long run(legit vapes with display that I know of? EQ, Cano digital*, Supreme, and there might be one or two others or that could be all, point is the readout is not a huge deal).

A whip will give some of the biggest, most concentrated rips, bags are much more diluted with air, because it uses a fan. Bags have a much higher air:vapor ratio.

It could be taking you longer to finish a bowl because of the effectiveness that you said it has lost. If its damged Im sure 7th Floor can get it fixed.

the SSV has a better whip angle btw, herb just can not fall into the heater cover with it.

and have a happy birthday!

Nycdeisel,
Thanks a lot for your posts. I think you're both right. I just need to get more screens and replace them more often. I get paranoid because my screens will get gunked up and the vaporizing isn't the same.

I would like to try bags, like the way you put it, you're not as tied to the vape as with DBV (which bothers me).

My vape still works good but I'll need to send it in to 7th Floor vapes soon. The white heater (I think ceramic) fell down and doesn't stand as high as I remember it. I could be wrong but I'd like to get it checked.

I'll hold out on spending any more money for now. Thanks again!

Ahh that might explain a bit- take off the glass heater cover and you can gently pull the ceramic heater up again as far as it will easily go (when it's turned off and cooled down of course!!!!). It should stay in place by itself when you pull it back up. Sometimes they can fall down lower into the hole, which reduces heat output at the wand. That was a troubleshooting tip I received from 7th floor myself in the past.

Edit: and clean screen will make all the difference- you can maintain your screens, rather than having to replace them all the time. Let it soak in a drop of iso alcohol and it will come clean. You can also burn the gunk off, but after a while heat damage causes the screen to loose it's spring and bends out of shape when being refit, rather than bouncing back into the groove inside the wand. So chemical cleaning is better IMO)
