ConVex vs Frolic vs TB2 (Tafée Bowle II) vs TM2 (Tinymight 2)

I currently have the TB2 and this replaced my TM2.

I now have a Frolic on the way which I am guessing will replace my TB2, but only time will tell.

Really looking forward to trying out the Frolic, so will report back once I've had some time with it!
Do you already have an estimated delivery date?

My Frolic is supposed to land tomorrow. 🤞

Right now my TB2 is king at home so I want to see if the Frolic can compete with or replace it. Never owned a TM2 or a Convex so would be interested in how they compare.

The TB2 isn't super portable because of the clumsy shape but it's the best on-demand portable I've found so far. The Frolic has a more portable shape so I'm hoping it will be my go-to outdoor portable. The fact that it has a removable battery and it can do session modes too is pretty sweet.

I'm really hoping the AVLP capsules will fit but I have a feeling they're too wide.

TB2 has been my favorite battery powered one the Frolic holds up nicely much heavier hitter though

That's surprising to hear. I don't normally take lung-busting hits with the TB2 but with a full bowl, on levels 4 or 5 with some really long draws (side-breaths in between to max the heater's timeout) you can cash a full bowl in about 3-4 hits with massive vapor.

I'd be happy if the Frolic has equal performance to the TB2 just because of the size and shape advantages but hearing that it's a "much heavier hitter".... wow.

I’m hoping it’s not too heavy as that’s what I didn’t like about the TM2. For me, the TB2 delivers big hits like the TM2 (less dense but similar vapour production) but the TB2 is much cooler natively.

Is the Frolic cooler/less harsh than the TM2?

I really wanna know how the native cooling of the Frolic compares to that of the TB2. Everyone says that the TB2 cools great, that you don't need a water pipe, etc...

For me, one of the main reasons to replace the TM2 with a TB2 would be to get rid of my Protégé. Even though it's a great piece, you have to fill it with water, clean it, hold it, take up table space, etc. A single device that can do everything almost as good would be very nice.

In my experience, some of those nice available glass stems with cooling marbles and spikes (e.g., from GVB), balls, etc., do a great job of cooling vapor with the TM2.

Based on what I've heard, the cooling is very good. Just read this testimony from a Venty user as well.

I don't remember how long the PEEK labyrinth is in the cooling unit of the Frolic but I remember it was a big number, so long cooling path natively.

The TB2 has an excellent system using anodized aluminum and a 90deg bend with a stem that maximizes surface area.

The Protege is an awesome piece from what I've seen. Why not try using it dry to save on maintenance? I started using all of my pieces dry for this reason.

Have you tried TM with triple right angle hooks like from OGB or GVB or even China...? Pretty much gives you the same path and cooling from TB then (unless you are using drinking glass etc to call the aluminum stem further) only with glass... So slightly different, but pretty much the same, and much better than most anything else in my experience all around simply effective

ConVex has similarities being more of the DIY ultimately, getting more and more polished... Frolic seems more like a ventyTM almost, not sure if I find it so appealing honestly... Heard rumors of more tinymight evolution coming too though btw (not just black model, but don't have any details)

I wouldn't know whatever Troy is doing or what he is alluding to sorry, I heard from someone else here (I don't recall him being such an advocate for TM in the past though so I wouldn't expect it, but there is always something on the horizon from someone that probably does have connect with him)

I think he's alluding to the new Pax. Their website has a countdown that expires on Monday.
ah... makes sense... seemed like there was more to it then just whatever Pax was up to but idk i'm bad at trying to read between the lines... i did message TM on insta a few times as they keep teasing that PH with the black that is sleek af... but they just said when i asked when that it'll be a great update once we get it shipped out with a wink... so... sometimes it'll come.. feels like soon "ish"

Thanks for the suggestions about a U hook for the TM2 or using the Protégé dry. It's an option, but in the end it's more paraphernalia taking up space, being breakable, etc.

I'm also weary of the TM2 because it doesn't have an auto-off timer and recently I've caught myself forgetting to turn off session mode and found the battery burning hot (I really don't want to burn down the house and then get no insurance coverage when they find out I was using dangerous batteries in a way that the battery manufacturer strictly forbids... 😱).

And I'm not too happy reading that the TM2's air path pass through the electronics under certain conditions: https://www.reddit.com/r/Tinymight2/s/KmUrPPOoKR

But more than anything, there's that damn VAS and I keep seeing people raving about these hot new vapes... 😅

I was actually ready to pull the trigger on a TB2 despite the crazy prize a few weeks ago, but it went out of stock at the only European store with a decent price.

And then I realized there were other cool vapes like the Frolic, the black TM2, and the upcoming ConVex V2. I signed up for the Frolic pre-order and my spot expires on August 6th... And now I find out that there's a mysterious new Pax that is supposed to be a huge deal... 🙈

What a time to be alive! Haha

@weedanwine
I might be speaking too soon here but I can't imagine a new Pax model will be *that* great. I'm not saying terrible but we'll see.

Out of these vapes the Convex V2 is the one that has me most interested.

Based on what they are teasing, I dont see it being any more than an improved version of the Pax Plus. Probably a more powerful heater with better airflow and maybe a redesigned chamber. Pax tends to focus on style over function and performance, but they definitely have a place in the vape space for sure.

I have a feeling that they'll release a convection (or at least hybrid) device. But I don't remember if I read that somewhere or am just pulling it out of my ass 😅
