How to Load

Align cut out out flowers on the cap with coil so there is one at each end. The mouthpiece alignment notches are in line with the flowers so you can use these instead if that's easier.

Remove the mouthpiece only, leaving the the metal airflow cap in place, scoop some concentrate up and replace the mouthpiece. Make sure you insert it straight down, not at an angle, or you will end up dabbing it on to your coil housing instead of the coil! These pens work best if you don't overload them, The Coil King is very efficient and capable of producing huge clouds from relatively small amounts of vapour, so start small-ish. You'll know if it's not enough because the dab won't transfer properly and you'll need to add a little more onto the dab tool! After the first inhale when the dab has transferred to the coil you can rotate the mouthpiece if desired, make sure you do it clockwise or you might unscrew the coil! After, remember to align it again before your next dab so it loads the coil properly.

How to use

Inhale gently, there is no need to suck and doing so can pull concentrate off the coil causing premature blockage. As a guide you should reduce your inhale strength until you feel no real resistance from the air.

There are two ways to do this once loaded.

For the first inhale always hold the pen upright so the dab transfers onto the coil.

  1. Then either hold the power button and inhale gently from the start until the battery cuts out. This method will give you the absolute max in terms of flavour, will increase heat time slightly and cause your coil to reach a lower temperature during the inhale. This is the method we suggest for true terp chasers.
  2. Or for the first inhale you can hold the power button and puff gently to allow the dab to warm and transfer onto the coil, do this until vapour starts to appear then inhale. This will produce more vapour as it allows the coil to heat faster and to load more fully before you begin to inhale, with the coil reaching a slightly higher temperature during the session.
If you want yet more vapour you can puff, then release and immediately re-press the button so that the 10 seconds starts again resulting in a higher temperature and more clouds!

In both cases release the power button around 2-3 seconds before you finish inhaling to allow the coil and rod to cool, preserving your material and flavour.

After the first inhale you can hold the Coil King at any angle and the concentrate will be retained in the coil. If you haven't taken a break allowing the rod, coil and contents to mostly cool, you can just hold the button and inhale as your material will already be on the coil and everything will still be warm. With the lowest heat setting you may want to puff while it heats if it has cooled, but with the middle and high settings this is not recommended. When the concentrate has transferred to the coil the Coil King AOI can be held and used at any angle, even upside down in your rig bubbler.

Cleaning

  • Soak coils overnight in ISO alcohol. Rinse with hot water, blow through to remove excess liquid. Leave to dry, then re-install and perform a burn off cycle.
  • These coils can also be cleaned using burn off cycles.
  • If you're performing a burn off cycle after a session then this can be done by placing the device on the highest heat setting and and holding the button down to 10 seconds whilst gently blowing into the air flow at the bottom of the atomizer coil.
  • Over time residue will build up inside the atomizer coil housing, when this happens you can perform a burn off cycle with the dab pen held upside down at 45+ degrees so that the concentrate runs out of the ceramic housing where it can be collected by a q-tip.
  • The mouthpiece can be soaked in alcohol overnight, then rinsed and dried for a full clean. To maintain it you can blow through the mouthpiece after a session to clear out the airflow holes, just make sure you hold kitchen roll around it or you'll blow residue everywhere!

Features - Extended Information

  • Silicone Lined leak proof storage cap with silicone lining. Just make sure your concentrate is arranged inside the edges of the pot and when you screw it in the silicone lining will seal it shut inside. The Silicone cap and lining are both removeable and replaceable.
  • Screw threaded storage, three turns. Magnets were not used as if you accidentally sit down with the pen in your pocket you container can come off, filling with your pocket contents, which has the potential to ruin your day and be an expensive mistake.
  • Ergonomic Zirconia ceramic mouthpiece cools the vapour and is comfortable to use.
  • A solid dab tool tool is included in the underside of the single piece Zirconia mouthpiece. A flat headed scoop was used as it makes an easy tool to collect an appropriate amount for the coil and to load the coil along some of its length. This improves initial vapour production and flavour over loading onto the central point only which is the hottest part of the coil where it will both take longer to wick up and vaporize as it does.
  • Lock function - click five times to lock or unlock.
  • Battery level display - lock or unlock the device to display the battery. The lights will flash three times displaying the battery level showing one, two or three LEDs, if it shows only one led you'll need to charge soon.
  • Three power settings - one light being the lowest, three lights being the highest.
  • 10 second cut out - Session mode was not used as it's easy to overheat coils and burn your material.
  • Responsive button with a positive click when used, so there's no confusion about whether it's being pressed or not.
  • Slightly restricted airflow designed to maximise vapour production and heat up times.
Includes

  • Coil King AIO Dab Pen
  • Included Dab Tool
  • Included Storage
  • Pre-installed Quartz Wrapped Dual Clapton Kanthal A1 coil

Okay I took one for the team, and brought one. No need to thank me, I'll do some testing on your behalf.

So this was developed by crossing tech and Matt from recommend vapes in the UK. I have had long chats on IG with Matt and he is sound as a pound. He knows his stuff.

It's well made and size is somewhere between a terp pen and a terp pen XL.

I'll do more testing and report back.

Well ,that coil tech rod with wire around has been out for ages, while it is effective, what is most annoying about it is cleaning. and also u have oil going in areas away from the heater. Let us know how is the taste after 10 loads :).

I agree coils have there drawbacks. You need to constantly "feed" them to maintain flavour. A clean bucket is 100% better flavour wise.

But you have to keep a bucket clean, that means iso and cotton swabs, and that restricts your portability. If you need iso, and swabs you might as well have a bucket atomiser such as a DT v4.

I have this and a sic quest both from Matt and RVS
Honestly for the money and for what it is top marks. Yeah cleanings a pain compared to a crucible and the flavours not a pure but that's kind of missing the point.

This is a cracking example of a dab aio done well

In my opinion 🐰

I am really enjoying the coil king.

First the bad: Don't expect bucket level flavour. You load a small amount and the flavour turns bad after 4 or 5 puffs. This is a trade off for portability, and the same for all coil based atomizers. Compared to a bucket the flavour is not great. It's also more fiddly to load than something dippable, but the trade off is better efficancy.

The good: It's well built. More efficient than the leading dippable competitor. I get 4 or 5 goods puffs from 2/3rds of a grain of rice. The little spoon tool is genius and works well. Anything left on the spoon drips on to the coil once you fire it up. I have never used above the middle power level, and the coil king can kick out some big clouds. It feel like it has lots of power, it's quite smooth. If I use my mouth as a carb and take in fresh air at the same time I don't cough. Super portable, you don't have to carry around iso and swabs. Everything else is spot on and all for £30.

So compared to the obvious comparison, I would take the coil king everytime. At the moment I can't put it down.

That's what I meant to type 🤦‍♂️ informative and all the reasons I actually like the device

I agree.
Have had the coil king since Wednesday.
Must have put 30 odd loads through it.

Not quite as tasty as a bucket but as has been said, very convenient.

I find loading a tad tricky. The product needs to be placed correctly but once you have this sorted it's very simple.

Ive been using cleaner bubble hash rosin. I understand a bucket is coming which will help with slightly less clean concentrate.

For a load, on level 1, I get one really good tasty cloud followed by a couple more smaller puffs before the taste degrades.

After a few loads i perform a quick clean by heating and gently blowing through the side vents. This has worked well with the next load back to tasty.

I've soaked in iso once after a couple of days and it cleaned up really well.

I'm really pleased with it and so far have used it out and about, on the deck etc etc. I have been reaching in preference to my sequoia or M22 just for ease and nothing else required. No looking for a q tip alternative as Ive left them at home etc etc.

Some pics:

I went for the rainbow version cause why not. Black or silver may be more subtle.... With optional WPA.

IMG_20211105_093100624.jpg

L to r
WPA; zirconia mp with scoop; top part; coil; body; silicon storage

IMG_20211105_093555107.jpg

Really useful storage pot with threaded screws to securely hold in place with no leakage or smell and mp scoop with some concentrate.

IMG_20211105_092236150.jpg

Coil after iso clean for an hour.

What I really like about it:
Good taste.
Convenience and ease. Just grab the pen and go. Your concentrate is in the storage pot, the dabber us part of the mp!
Thick clouds at a lower temp. Thick wire closely wrapped seems to deliver taste and clouds.
Zirconia mp does a good job cooling despite the short distance.
Pen itself remains pretty cool.

My only issue is with the quality of concentrate required and the slight difficulty loading, depending on your product. Mine is a bit crumbly so takes more effort to load than dumping in a bucket. And of course the cleaner your product, the less gumming of coils.
With the forthcoming bucket these issues should be resolved.

For 30£ it's a no brainer imo. Nice one Matt at RVS.

Hi All, thanks for making this thread, really pleased to see people are enjoying it. Any questions please feel free to hit me up through one of the contact methods on the website, got everything from email to whatsapp to signal. I'm super busy and terrible at checking forums so please don't be offended if/when I don't reply on here! Notifications can be a little dodgy on signal, telegram and wickr so if you're not getting a reply in working hours just let me know to check them by texting, emailing or whatsapping. They're usually pretty reliable.

I am finding this vape more difficult to keep clean than a dip device. You have to get a tooth pick and scrape underneath the coil to get the reclaim out. After a while you only get a few reloads before it needs a clean.

Would be much better if i could remove the o-ring from the top of the coil so i could soak the whole thing in iso. Cant seem to do it.

Cleaning is starting to get a pain.

I've been soaking the whole thing including o ring in iso. No degrading yet.

The o-ring is viton and super resistant to ISO, the coil itself will need replacing before the o-ring degrade from being soaked. It should come off though they're not fixed, just be careful as we don't currently have spares!

So I generally hate exposed coil vapes. Mostly because every hit after the first couple starts to taste like burnt butt as reclaim accumulates.

That having been said, those fancy crucible wax pens get hot as fuck, and are much bulkier than a coil atty or 510 cart setup. The Sai probably still holds the record for longest streak as my daily driver, so I like Crossing Tech. Do you think it's possible to dry burn this guy clean every couple hits, or would that ratfuck the battery?

I still believe 510 carts are the ultimate portable solution. But in Floriduh, no pre-filled option uses what I consider acceptable cart hardware (all ceramic or all glass). No truly full-spec concentrate is available in syringe form. So I'd have to decarb my own rosin or live resin and fill carts myself. It's kind of a pain in the ass, and requires planning ahead. Maybe something like this would help fill a gap for me when I'm too lazy to fill my own carts.

I don't get why this vape does not get more love. Okay it's not a bucket, but a coil and that means the flavour is not A++.

However the convenience is a massive plus, and far outweighs this drawback. You can measure a dose far easier than the leading competitor and it has everything you need in one package. Dab tool, dab container. Cleaning is easy peasy a quick wipe of the top parts and pop the coil in an ISO bath.

I don't think I have touched my DTv5 since I got this. The convenience and portability wins the reach test everytime.

I think exactly the same. I still use my DT V4.5 at home a lot (and sometimes the V5), but when I go out of home, the coil king is all I grab. I really really like it.

And c´mon, for that price? I never liked pens with the exposed coil but since this one was from these guys and I really enjoy my V4.5, I decided to give it a go. Best choice for out and about I´ve made in years!!
