Cleanest vaporizer recommendation

Good afternoon! This is my first post here but I’ve been lurking for a while. I recently got back into cannabis after a 5 year hiatus. Previously I was using an Arizer Extreme Q with a water pipe as my daily setup. I was in shock when I recently read about the dirty pathway issues with the Extreme Q. I also saw some issues with aluminum dust on some vaporizers which is also terrifying. I currently do not have a vape and rely on edibles only which, while effective, is not as convenient for dosing purposes. I have been out of the game for a while so I’m hoping there has been some developments in vaporizers. Can someone recommend me one or more of the absolute cleanest (pathway, and overall) vaporizers on the market in the US today? Price is not a limitation, I just want the absolute safest vape out there.

Vriptech Heatwand. Elev8r with optional (but not recommended for better performance vs SS) glass screen.

Vriptech also features a glass screen.

EVO is all glass except the metal herb Basket.

Most vapes are plenty clean and safe/non-toxic enough IMO. Lots to choose from.

You might wanna check out the Vaponic as well. You can use a torch lighter to heat it or a 510 box mod heater by MistVape.

It uses a stainless steel screen, but I know some members forgo the screen and use a little nug chunk instead.

If you have access to quality concentrates, hard to beat a dab rig with a quartz banger.

Best of luck on your search.

Other than the vapor path I’d value positively if a vaporizer is not capable of charring the load.
Most important I’d choose vapes that are registered as medical devices which restricts the choice to: Volcano, Mighty, MiniVAP.
Glass air path is only bro science as far as we know today. Having a glass air path in a vape that relays on user techniques in order not to char its load may be fun, but it’s not my definition of a safe vaporizer.

Edit: I missed that @Morty already recommended this, with the heater to boot! To that end I second his Vaponic recommendation.

Up until a few days ago, I was using the Vaponic quite a bit. I plan to do so again in the near future. It's basically two glass tubes, and a glass mouthpiece held together with a piece of food-grade silicone that acts as an air inlet as well. There's a small metal screen for catching particles, but I plan on testing using it without as I generally tend to use this device with small chunks as opposed to ground material.

Conduction with a little bit of convection sort of similar to a VapCap in that regard, but with a mostly all-glass air path, I find the vapour to be very smooth and I think it sits among my better tasting vapes.

Paying for expensive certifications that are financially out of reach of most companies doesn’t equal science. That’s no different argument than an organic farmer who doesn’t pay for organic /biodynamic certification - it does not mean at all that his produce is not organically grown, just because a pay-for-play regulatory agency doesn’t give you a sticker that says so.

What are the actual scientific qualifications for a medical grade vaporizer? Is there a list somewhere with a general overview so the metrics could be extrapolated to other devices?

If we want to talk about bro science how about all the companies that list “food grade” materials as being relevant to vaporizing?

And correct me if I’m wrong but glass is actually used in a science lab, which I can’t say for most other stuff. The fact that glass is already the medium for vaporization, evaporation, and distillation experiments in an analytical grade environment means it has already been vetted. It’s every other material that has something to prove.

Personally, I would no way rule out the SSV or LSV with their clean, ceramic heater.
But I’m pretty sure it is not just a ceramic heater. I think there is a wire inside the ceramic. I’m not sure what material it is but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was nickel

Thanks so much, these are some excellent recommendations and I've been taking a look at a lot of them.

Two that have my eye right now are the DynaVap / OmniVap and Elev8r just because they have no electronics. This might be a dumb question but is there any chance of off gassing from the dynavap / omnivap (titanium alloy?), or even quartz fibers from the Elev8r? Is there a difference in terms of safety between the different DynaVap vapes?

As far as the S&B vapes - I was initially interested in the Mighty until I saw that the Volcano had issues with aluminum dust, so really how much is the medical certificate worth?

To be very brief and sorry for that- I don't personally think you need to be at all concerned about off gassing toxicity from either the Ti vapvap, or quartz Elev8r.

Just learn not to overtorch, creating toxins on the line of pyrilosis, or even combust which is not very common with plug in's and regulated, electric portables.

Vaponic all the way; it is 95% glass airpath apart from the tiny screen that is stainless steel. Also the Arizer Argo, almost mainly glass intake - just make sure that your herb is not touching the bottom of the oven.

I'm not understanding. I don't see how an e-Nano is unsafe just because you can char the load by turning the dial too high. Not seeing how a Vapman / Vapcap is safe because it doesn't have a glass pathway even though those 2 devices also carry a risk of charring. You're saying a Lil Bud goes from safe to unsafe if you replace the wood stem with a glass one? You're saying the vapor produced by an Arizer Solo is safe, but the vapor produced by a e-Nano or Milaana is unsafe just because the e-Nano/Milaana have enough power on tap to potentially char the load?

Vaponic all glass pathway is very pure and will be purchasing another after this busy shipping time of year. Also, be certain that any screens used in your vape are 300 series stainless steel. ( Non magnetic) The same SS used for lab fixtures and quality cook ware. Yes, some manufactures cheap out on screens.

Davinci IQ2: " Like the other DaVinci vaporizers, the IQ2 is built with purity in mind with medical-grade components. No metal or plastic parts touch your herb or contaminate the flavor of your vapor. The airtight, all ceramic air path is engineered with zirconia and a glass-lined oven to ensure unprecedented purity and flavor." Note: There is a removable food grade silicon washer sealing the mouth piece to the unit with minimal exposure to vapour.

I didn't say anything of what you are implying. I did say that imho the most safe vapes are not necessarily made of glass. Safest vapes imho are those who are registered as medical devices (Volcano, Mighty, MiniVAP afaik). Is it just because of money spent by the makers to get medical patents? Fair, but incidentally IME those 3 vapes are foolproof, extract perfectly and don't char the load under ANY circumstance.
Glass air path being considered safe because glass gets used in "labs" imho is not science, it's not proven, just bro-science, at least until a glass made vape gets registered as a medical device, and only for that vape if ever.
IMHO it's better to rely on medically certified devices if you ask me for the safest vapes available.
Those patents mean lots of testing other than paying for getting to be certified. Does it takes out of the equation artisanal vapes or smaller companies vapes? Yes unfortunately for them, at least for now. Perhaps in a few years those patents will be free to use? I don't know, but I value medical certification more than forum recommendations or glass air paths (with metal bowls btw).

I'm sorry, but there is nothing "bro" about the science of glass. We've been using glass in many different forms for centuries and science has known about the properties of glass for almost as long.

Here is a very non bro science data sheet regarding the material safety of borosilicate used, in this case, for optical purposes.

[/URL]

The only hazard that is attributed is for any small particles and dust when machining.

I completely respect your opinion that unless a vape has a medical certificate you don't regard it as safe, that's your porogative. however many here, myself included, would rather use our own judgements, educated or otherwise.

Brother....you seem to have a good bit of neurotic worry about material issues in vapes. I don't know where you live, but if you are anywhere in an urban area at all, then you are breathing in more toxic shit than you will ever get out of a vape. Just stand on that street corner on a hot humid afternoon as the bus goes by, yeah?
I would also look at where you are accessing your flower, because if you are not growing it yourself you have no idea what you are inhaling.
