CBD: Best way to consume

I've been having trouble finding the ideal way to consume CBD, and what I should buy. I have a lot of food allergies, and unfortunately a tincture isn't going to work well for me. I have tried eating/vaping CBD isolate, but the stuff I got gave me a terrible headache. I've tried eating full plant CBD extract (comes in a syringe, about 18% cbd) and I don't get headaches but I do get GI issues with it, specifically it gives me hemorrhoids and inflammation in that area. either that or it is increases blood flow in that area which aggravates it. Strangely, vaping doesn't cause this issue, but even with water filtration my throat has a really tough time with it, along with making my acid reflux worse. So here are my main questions:
Do you know of a CBD isolate source that goes the extra mile to make sure the solvents they use are completely removed from the product?
also, is there another option I should try?
Thanks!!

There won't be solvent in isolate; the crystalline nature denotes the purity.

IMO CBD isolate is kind of a waste of money, it's only a fraction of the valuable healing compounds found in the plant. My favorite CBD product right now is broad spectrum CBD distillate from The Hemp Barn. It contained other cannabinoids such as CBC, CBG, and CBN, as well as CBD for a more synergistic experience (IMO)
The ones with cannabis derived terpenes are particularly relaxing.

Up your fiber if you aren't already. Constipation likely has little to do with CBD. Men need almost 40g of fiber a day for example, and very few men get that much. Increase water consumption with fiber.

As to the isolate, vape it in a nail about 15-20MG worth and go up or down from there. If it's 99.9% isolate a good micro measurement scale can help you figure out your dose.

Take some turmeric for your acid reflux, 1500mg a day.

These are all anti-inflamatory and should help with the hemmeroid flare ups. My condolences =/

It's a shame that you can't use sublingual products. We weren't even considering sublingual when the wife finally got approved for full spectrum medicinal. The certifying doctor recommended drops under the tongue that were high CBD and low THC and we both said that sublingual wasn't going to work because of my wife's nausea from migraines and overall nausea sensitivities. Surprise! Those drops are a definite help. Not a cure but we are seeing benefits we didn't expect. Knocks the pain level down by a couple levels.

She takes two drops under the tongue and works it around for a good 10 to 20 seconds and then it's absorbed. 20 minutes later she feels it working. Never would have guessed it was that effective. From what I read sublingual is the second fastest absorption method after inhalation.

I blend CBD Isolate with MCT oil to a proportion of 5mg per drop. MCT oil is marketed as a health food supplement and at 5 drops per dose is hardly even noticeable under the tongue.

Sublingual ingestion is very efficient and very fast BUT many don't like the taste. I accidentally discovered a new sublingual method.... hold a gummie under your tongue until it is totally dissolved.
1. gummy will taste much better than tincture
2. much easier to hold a solid gummy under the tongue vs liquid tincture.

I had some gummies that were very sticky/chewy and they were sort of tough too, so tried them under my tongue so no chewing needed. Result: great pain relief in just a few minutes and no nasty tincture taste!

You can even make gummies quickly by applying some tincture with a dropper to store bought gummies.

Will the gummies absorb the liquid tincture? They don't give the appearance of being absorbent but have never tried.
If so, I suppose one could even strengthen 25 mg CBD gummies by adding some tincture to beef 'em up.
thanks for that suggestion

I only tried it one time with Haribo Sour Bears and it worked really well. I went through a gummy making phase but that method is easy and effective enough that anyone can do it. Ultimately I don't believe candy is good for day to day medication though so I prefer cannacaps. Cool stuff for a party or traveling or something though.

Sidnote: I used a homemade tincture which was very concentrated. Something very diluted probably wouldn't work well, but CBD distillate from say, The Hemp Barn would be perfect for it as it has no plant waxes to emulsify or eat, nor any degraded decarboxylation flavor. High proof alcohol or probably even MCT oil would work perfect for making your own high strength tincture. For about $70 anyone could make 100 10mg gummies with that method.

I rarely do gummies myself as my daily is usually a TBSP of whole milk heated in microwave with a heavy sprinkle of Ceylon cinnamon and a pinch of hot chocolate/cocoa powder. The chocolate works well to cover the MCT tincture's bad taste. The cinnamon works well to cover the tincture aroma.... with just cocoa mix, the aroma still "got to me" and drinking the mixture was unpleasant. The milk fat helps the uptake. Are you allergic to dairy, chocolate, cinnamon??

I assist several seniors/disabled and they tend to like the gummies, surprised me.
I also have capsules as the more options the better.

EDIT: And have CBD isolate too, as it also has its place. I've used it melted onto ground mint leaves and vaped---decent taste. And melted onto a small chamber of typical THC heavy flower and vaped --to get some CBD too.

I’ve recently started using cbd oil derived from flowering hemp with great success. I’m using a product called Green Serene Extra. It’s a full spectrum 1500mg of cbd concentrate, including a decent terpene profile and a good variety of secondary cannabinoids, diluted in 30ml of MCT oil. I chose oil for the ability to modify effects by adding various terpenes. I’m a bit intolerate of taste so administer by filling gel caps.

The vast majority of reputable products are actually rebrands from a small number of white label bulk suppliers such as Global Cannabinoids. Prices vary widely for the same product, from .04 to .10 per mg so shop wisely. Even at the lower price, the cost of the actual cbd is literally comparable to the price of gold, $1200 per ounce!

You can buy CBD isolate for $15 a gram, saw it on sale for $10 a gram the other day.

Very interesting. I’ve never given consideration of isolates since I was seeking the entourage effect offered by a full spectrum product.

The product I bought cost $60 and contained 1.5 grams of actual cbd. That computes to about $1135 per ounce.

Can’t imagine why there’s such a despairity but with isolates being 1/4 the price, I definitely need to revamp a bit. Now to figure out how to transform isolates into something resembling full spectrum. Probably some terpene additives and a tad of some of my homemade CCO may be worth exploring.

Thanx for the heads up.

I definitely agree with your premise, I prefer broad spectrum CBD distillate over CBD isolate for the same reasons, which does drive the price up. You're right, there is some green gold brewing at some of these prices! To me the isolate doesn't have the same medicinal potential, but it seems to work for some people. Like you, I prefer having those other minor cannabinoids in the mix though. I use The Hemp Barn's distillate currently which use reintroduced cannabis derived terpenes.

I have also used CBD isolate + terpenes but IMO it's not quite a replacement for the minor cannabinoids in the mix. I feel like CBD isolate is probably decent to add to THC based flowers and concentrates which will already have a spectrum of compounds, whereas these more complete hemp extracts are likely better for sole CBD based usage.

I had some shatter that was primarily THC. Initial use was mostly a energetic head-high. Would cause initial minor paranoia until I got used to it. Didn't use it much. I had a low dose vape cart that was gathering dust so I set up a double boiler kind of thing and mixed the shatter and the cart's low dose cart oil that was MCT based. It didn't separate when I placed the mixture back in the cart. The high changed from almost a pure head high to a combination of body and head buzz similar to full spectrum. It was still more head than body though.

I have no experience with vape carts mainly due to my concern over the lack of scientific study into the additives used. The upcoming additions of edibles and extracts to the Canadian landscape will hopefully give us some product and fillers that have been throughly tested. I am impressed with producers that make vape oil that is pure and uncut.

Thanx for your input. With that information I think I’ll just bite the bullet and stick with what’s working for me for the immediate future. I’ve got some Cherry Wine seeds on the way. I’m in hopes I can find some success with some homegrown products eventually and not have to pay that pound of flesh!

Theseedchoice. 5 fem seeds for $20. No problem finding seeds if you want 300000 of them. Choices are limited if you only want a few.

CBD for me is a must-have, I use it to treat small body pain, but it has a lot of benefits so you can use it for a lot of purposes. My first experience with CBD was last year when I had some back pain. I got to the point when I didn't know what to do, so a friend of mine recommended me CBD I. It was fantastic it really helped. I use CBD oil by applying it on my body, but you can use it in any other methods you like. I buy CBD oil on the internet on this website https://www.healthcanal.com/best-cbd-oil/arthritis.

I've been dosing my dog because of arthritis and have looked into some of the canine studies. One thing some studies recommend for bioavailability is a liposomal formulation. (At least in a canine study.) While not the point of the study, the discussion noted the difference in serum levels between liposomal and non-liposomal CBD. They said that while liposomal ramps up blood levels faster and to a higher level, without the encapsulation blood levels rise slower, don't get as high and then go down slower as well.

Bottom line, liposomal formulations are more bioavailable. But, is that what you want?

Not the study, but an abstract can be found at:
A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of daily cannabidiol for the treatment of canine osteoarthritis pain

Bottom line: Heck yes high levels of CBD work on arthritis pain.
