Hello FC forum, my name is Scott and this is the Bud Bee Herb Grinder. I am releasing my new grinder for pre-order on my site Bud Bee Grinders. This pre-order will begin shipping at the beginning of February 2025.

To give you some background on myself I run a B2B machining business in Alberta Canada and about 2 years ago I looked into branching out into the premium cannabis accessories market. However, I knew I wanted to give customers a product choice that was not only great but also contributes to protecting our environment. Thus Bud Bee Grinders was born. I believe this grinder accomplishes these goals through premium material and innovative design choices, as well our business model of donating a portion of all sale profits to pollinating bee and insect conservation programs. More information about the charitable mission for Bud Bee Grinders will be released after the first pre-order fulfillment.

This is great to see and might give MedGrind a run for their money. It's nice to hear actual specifications and alloy designations for the materials rather than just marketing speak. If you wanted to target vaporists primarily it might have been better to release the coarse grind plate first, we rarely use fine grinds.

Speak for yourself? lol I use fine a lot (in fact the old presumption was vaping needed a fine grind always, but of course it depends on the vape, preferences etc other variables)

Well sure, everyone has their own preference. But realistically, do you think Brilliant Cut sells more fine plates than coarse? I would bet it's at least 5 to 1 for coarse. I wasn't trying to speak for you, or myself, I was speaking about the market for grinders.

You're still just guessing based on your own preferences and perceptions though

I’m no expert on vapes or grinders — I don’t know what I don’t know.

My experience so far with my devices is that too fine can choke some of my devices. Too coarse might result in some uneven roast, at worst.

Other than cheap 2 piece grinders, my experience is limited to my Large BCG. I’ve been using the coarse plate almost exclusively and have been very happy. I’ve only recently started to play with medium to see how it performs in my Bowle. I got my fine plate delivered last week — but I’m not sure if I’ll actually ever use it.

Love the look/features of your grinder, though. If it proves to be as self-cleaning as my BCG, I’d most definitely be in for one.

Except I'm not. I'm guessing based on years of observing conversations and recommendations about grinders. I only own one grinder and it doesn't come with optional plates. Is it your personal philosophy that it's impossible to know anything because all knowledge is subjective? It must be hard for you to get things done.

It's an odd trend I notice more and more where people seem to feel that it's not possible to learn from others and all knowledge has to come from personal experience. I wonder why people bother to write books...

I've reviewed a bunch of grinders here and have several more planned for this year.

Congrats on getting this far in your development of the grinder.

A medium grind is what I need, so I'll have to hold off on getting one of these until those are available. Also, even though it looks cool to have that deep carved honeycomb design on the top, I won't get one with that because it will collect "schmootz" aka dust, lint if put in pocket, bits of random stuff. I also think the screws, and the barring holes are going to get gunked up with bits of plant matter and trichomes. This looks like a higher maintenance grinder the the BCG I am already using.

Maybe once people have been using them for a few months we will hear that none of those issues have manifested, but I'm not dropping around $100 to find out.

I do like that it looks like it will have a more effective grip than the BCG because of the way the outside is cut not in a perfect circle.

Funny. Using the same method you are using, I would have sworn that medium grind is the most used/needed grinder. I'm not saying you are wrong or your opinion isn't as valid, just that I've been looking into it, and using them for over 30 years, and came to a different conclusion. I also have been designing my own grinder (probably just to make for myself, not to market), and have done a lot of research into what is suggested for different vapes. I rarely see a vape come out that says to use a fine grind. Almost all I ever see is medium or course suggested. I know that the Magic Flight Launch Box likes a fine grind. I'm not able to recall any others that do. Doesn't mean they don't exist though, of course.

I agree. I always buy all 3 plates (both sizes of my BCG’s), just to have a complete set.
I own a decent amount of various vapes, and the MEDIUM plate is my most used.

If anyone wants to ask BCG support, “what size plates do you sell the most of?”, that might get close to an informative answer….
