Beginner Oil Rig

I'm looking to get a starter oil rig finally and I have my mind made up about a few things:

Good price/quality ratio on everything

Domeless Nail

Small / Med Bubbler setup

I need domeless nail (highly ed?), torch and dabber suggestions in addition to a small bubbler (toro looks nice, just too expensive).

Any help would be much appreciated. I would prefer to spend about $250 or less on everything, but I could throw a bit more at it if it's worth it.

the infamous $40 bubbler would give you plenty of money to play with and get pretty much any domeless nail, torch and dabber you want. That piece is well known in this forum and should be am excellent starter piece

I won't recomend anything as far as a bubbler goes, but you should be able to find a decent cheaper one. I've been seeing tons pop up lately for under 150 dollars.

For a torch, I've been using the 25 dollar Bernzomatic torch. Got it at Hope Depot. Works a lot better than I thought it would for 25 bucks. Figured I'd have to replace it when I got a domeless, but it's still working fine.

If you want a domeless, I'd recommend the DualiTI. Highly educated makes good stuff. I use the InfiniTI. Should be pretty similar.

For dabbers, just get a cheap TI one.

I used to have that same HD bernzomatic torch. Worked like a charm for 6 months, but then it started leaking butane. I've been much happier with the creme brulee torch from Bed Bath and Beyond. Had an ignitor failure at ~3months, but BBB replaced the torch for free.

Check out the Concentrate Accessory thread for suggestions on a domeless nail

Mines going on 8, at least. Stopped igniting, but I just cleaned up and it works fine again. Even seems cleaned out or something after months of use. Flame is a lot hotter than when I first got it.

Interesting, how does one clean a torch so it works better?

Only idea I have is that over time the butane has cleaned out any oils or impurities left from production. I filled it with Colibri a couple times because it's all I had. When I went back to Ronson it burned hotter. Flame is almost a half inch longer than when I got it, or my friends new one. When it's full, I use it with the flame turned all the way down, now.

Thanks guys, here is what I ended up getting:

Bent Glass Nighthawk B7-38
Highly Ed Dualiti / dabber (didn't care enough to research cheaper ones).

Now I just need a torch. I guess I will look for creme brulee ones, my local headshop is a ripoff (cheapest oil rig was $225).
