To anyone using HG2's in their ArGo, did you notice is difference in performance compared to the stock battery?
Nope. Did the research and found Panasonic batteries were the ones to use.

Yup. You can use (almost) any 18650, the power demand is relatively small. However, no 18650 available today will run it longer. Arizer uses the top pick for the job.......as you'd expect them to?

Panasonic NCR 18650B.

Been using the ArGo for a week or two. Seems that the ABV is lighter than when I would use my vapcap.

I'm going as high as 420 and it's still not that dark. Should I not expect it to get as dark as with my DynaVap?

That's been the case for me as well. But I would say that none of my vaporizers (Solo II, Fierce, Fury 2, Mighty) darken the AVB as dark as my OmniVap. And this is the case even though I usually stop heating before the click.

I don't believe that darkness is the only indicator that flower is finished – at least what I regard as finished.

If you have some doubts that your ArGo isn't extracting to the extent that you hope it would, just run your ArGo AVB through your DynaVap.

I do this periodically whenever my suspicions are aroused, and the result is always the same: no further extraction – by which I mean visible or taste-able vapor – occurs.

Absolutely! I would have done it already but my vapcap was full at the moment. Guess I gotta fix that and then try the ArGo AVB.

My intention in getting the ArGo was for a travel vape and I'm sure it will work great for that. Been using it at home since it's new but probably going back to the vapcap soon. With an induction heater the experience is just easier than dealing with temp stepping, batteries, and assorted stems.

Gotta play with the fury2 basket stems first though.

I don’t know if it’s plausible?
The size is perfect and you can hide it from non-believer’s!
You cannot compare a Torch with a battery powered VAPE?
Pear’s vs Grapefruit?

Different buddy!
ARGO is 4 those who life style it fit’s?
A torch powered device is a few decade’s ago for some!

I use a “M” sometimes however the ARGO is on my radar!

Sup ArGo homies. Long time lurker, rare poster - lost my login creds back in the era of no maintenance, glad to see the site's been fixed since!

Anyway, the ArGo - been my daily for over a year now, love its tiny size, ease of cleaning, and most of its vapour performance. Wish the bowls were a bit more flavourful like I remember the T-1's being. No exotic technique for me, small/medium grind and loose fill 3/4 of the stem. Most of my stuff seems to be good for at least 10 hits in the 390-410f range.

I'm quite impressed with how simple, relatively affordable, and reliable Arizer gear is.

My original love and first vape was the Thermovape T-1 -- been looking for something comparable ever since it kinda stopped heating... not sure if the batteries were just completely toast (though I did swap them out with some new chinese CR232 cells, but the terrible heating problem persisted) or if the heater core finally gave up the ghost. Still have it kicking around in a drawer somewhere along with a slightly non-functional power adapter (connector has an open circuit), someday perhaps I'll revive it.

Have used in the interim an Arizer Air 1 (and still use this maybe 30% of the time), HR Fury2, Pax 3, probably one or two more that I've forgotten about... VAS is real :(

Ok so I tried the fury 2 dosage capsules from PIU and had some interesting results.

I packed the material in first and then the empty capsule bottom first, to keep the material in place. None of the capsule hung out of the stem, so no direct contact with the oven.

Got more vapor at 355 for first draw than usual. Then I continued to get vapor at 355 for more hits than I normally do. I was excited at first but then I realized what might be happening. So I bumped up to 375 and didn't get the kind of vapor I'm used to. Tried again and still not much. Then went to 395 and barely got anything. Went to 420 and got a little...then tossed it in my vapcap and got a decent hit, :hmm:

I can't see how the capsule could have heated my material hotter than the oven temp...that's not even possible is it? Either way it seemed to be giving me more vapor at 355 then when I went up to 375 so I don't really know what else could have happened.

There is just too much restriction of the dosing capsule keeping the hot air from surrounding the flower. You heated up the metal more than the flower inside it!

I just use a screen at the bottom of the bowl next to the 4 holes.....lightly pack the stem/bowl to about 90% full and not any more....basically leave a space between the end of the glass and the flower.

Then for the first draw....hold the vape upside down with the stem below the argo.... the flower will stick in place after 10 seconds or so of your draw. Use upright as normal and the flower will not not touch the oven and make it taste bad.

If you stir like me....I only stir 1 time with the argo or air's. I do the same hold upside down for the first draw after I start or stir. This gets you the best possible taste and you do not have to mess with a big ass screen when you are done or start that robs the extraction process.

I received an Argo today to replace my dying falseFury and after a few burnoffs and stems I have to say I´m impressed with the vapor and airflow of this little thing. With the correct inhalation it can be as powerful as the fury or even more! Size and design are impressive too.

There is only one concern with my unit and it is a big one: Taste is still plasticky and silicone-ish. I kept doing burnoffs yesterday and most of it is gone but there is still some residual aftertaste and I think its because of the thermoplastic housing of the heater. Could any of you tell me how much time this bad taste lasts and if it goes away completely? I am extremely sensitive to this particular bad taste and with my Solo1 I dont recall any similar taste.

Also as a sidenote this device gets really hot! I mean alarmingly hot in the heater area. It may not injure but it sure is unconfortable if used in house. When i used it in the street the wind cooled it enough to be warm but not unconfortable.

Thanks in advance!

That is not normal for any kind of smell or taste after a couple basic burn offs. I used a ISO dampened qtip on it to wipe out the insides as best as I could..then followed by water dampened qtips to follow up.

I never had any indication of any silicone taste or smell ever. So....if that does not clear up after 4 burn ins...maybe contact the seller or arizer about this. Every arizer I have had is always clean smelling with heater on.

As far as the heater area getting too hot....what temps are you vaping at? I normally just use 376F for a 10 min session and a bubble stem. It gets fairly warm but not too hot to touch. I also hang on to the top area and the bubble stem and keep my fingers off the lower heater area. But if you use hot temps like 390 or more....yea its going to get hot...where is that heat going to go with it being so close to the outer shell and vents? It's no IQ for sure though....lol

Plastic and silicone? I'm not even sure that's possible. There's no plastic or silicone contact except maybe in the cold air you're pulling into the heating unit to be heated. This isn't the fury.

I did a quick iso swab and a burnoff to get rid of iso and that was it.

The smaller the unit the closer your hand will be to the heater. The ArGo is tiny so heat is a consequence of that.

As I saw in Puffitup´s teardown the heater and airflow are encapsulated in PEEK thermoplastic which has a "glass transition temperature of around 143 °C (289 °F) and melts around 343 °C (662 °F). Some grades have a useful operating temperature of up to 250 °C (482 °F)" (extracted from wikipedia) and it has plastic body and silicone orings to keep mouthpiece in place. I assume those materials need to cure and so the diminishing bad taste. After 2 days of heavy burnoffs its barely noticeable but it is still there. Don´t think there is any safety issue in those residual odors but I hope it goes away soon because it kills the flavour specially at the highest temps.

@LabPong I usually vape at 195 c but first I crank it up to 220 in order to build heat. The highest amount of heat is seen in house because in the exterior the wind helps a lot in cooling.

@Jgott56 The fury had a similar bad taste until I cured all the silicone pieces in my oven. Unfortunately I can´t do this with my Argo

Slight bad taste apart the performance of this unit is rock solid. Good clouds and much easier on the throat than a Fury. Can´t compete with bigger on-demand convection units but its extremely well suited for discreet public usage.

I too had no such issues, still perceptions are real to the guy making them?

The heater is a ceramic element. The only plastic and other materials near by are suitable to the duty (no off gassing):
https://blog.puffitup.com/2018/02/argo-teardown-ripping-arizers-newest-portable-apart/

As J56 points out this is not the open plastic/tape wrapped heater other vapes use.

I agree, it does get warm, even hot (but IMO not dangerously so) in that corner (and it does spread) but I don't want them making it bigger on that account. Like most I give it a brief rest while I reflect on my sins if it becomes awkward to hold. I'm right handed, and therefore usually use it with the display away from me so the part against my thumb (where the batter is) is the cool side, with my fingers holding on the top.

I had an Arizer Solo 1 and never experienced any strange taste. Will update as I continue testing.. you know... for science.. :science:

We rarely see complaints of silicon or plastic smells tastes in here so it's either something wrong with your unit or you're highly sensitive to smells and tastes.

Arizer veterans! I'm new to the brand and the only arizer piece I own is the ArGo.

How would you say the ArGo compares to the solo 2 or air 2? Do you get better extraction with the bigger units? I'm just curious if I ever need to get a solo2 or air2 after already owning the ArGo or if I have the Arizer box checked.

The Solo 2 will definitely put out bigger clouds than the ArGo.

The Air or Air2 will give you stronger vapor.

They’re very similar, and I have seen videos where people can’t really tell a difference.
