@m0sh, when I said lightly compare them he mentioned that the Tera has much better vapor while he thinks the Argo is better on the flavor front I'm sure it was before the 1 hour mark.

I'm still looking for a new vape and tested out an Argo last week- the performance was good, really enjoyed the smoothness of the vapor and that the flavour held out for the entirety of the session.
The unit I used had a slight malfunction upon starting the 2nd heat up cycle after the 1st session had timed out- the unit had only switched off for a matter of 1-2 seconds and was climbing temp very very slowly (much slower than the first time) it then actually started dropping temp instead of rising? I had to go in and out of the menu screen to get it to correct and begin climbing (the correct temp of 190°C was selected when I kept checking back?)

I also noticed the vented corner of the unit does get very hot to touch even after 1 session.

I have never owned or used an Arizer vape previous to this but have always been told of great build quality and performance- the top of the glass stem seems to move too freely when in use and I'm finding it hard to accept that pop up cover for the mouthpiece, it feels clunky, cheap and certainly like it doesnt belong on a premium device.
Going to test a Tera this week and weigh up my options...

@sNc does not sound like your stem is seated all the way, if it is there is something wrong.

I agree the pop-up mouth guard does not ooze quality one would expect from a $270 vape. Yes the vents adjacent the heater do get very warm, but the heat is not contained and does not heat up the entire vape.

Bud in his video said it gets as hot as the IQ. I own both and disagree. The entire IQ gets very warm, you may warm your hands with it! Not so with the ArGo. Bud also said in his video the ArGo weighs about the same as the ArGo, he is a bit off here.. the IQ weighs 5 oz. and the ArGo weighs 3.4oz. The IQ drives itself to the bottom of my pocket, it has a heft the ArGo does not seem to have.

While I am a fan of the ArGo, I cannot use it for back to back sessions without heat related throat irritation.. what I am liking is I think I could take this on a flight, even an international one. The stems will clean perfectly being all glass and the oven really will not accumulate residue unless you routinely overpack the stem and you do not clean the bowl after use... still debating this.. will know better after more use over the summer.. ArGo fuck yourself! -YaMon

Sounds like a low battery? Same behavior as my Solo II when bettery is low

@sNc deffinitely take a read on the FC Boundless Tera thread and consider not trying it out, for health sake, at the moment anyways.

Good evening everyone. My Argo arrived today. I have had three bowls so far. First impressions are is that it is well built and when you turn it on i quite like that you can change a few basic functions to suit your own needs.

I started off on 420f but after a few hits went upto 428 lol, i like max temp on the air also so i guess it makes sense. The argo actually seems smoother to me, i believe maybe it's due to the fact i use the short stem with the air, and with the argo the stem is a bit further away down the bottom of the vape. It seems this way so far but it's still early days.

Taste is very nice, also due to the greenery of which i'm vaping ;-) but thru the new fresh glass even at max temp i was pulling on it as i tend to get a bit carried away, and the taste is amazing. This is definately one of the reasons i got myself an air after i had a solo, and an argo after my air.

Efficiency, always end up using my air to ration out my stash and for me personally i've had alot of different vapes and my air is my daily driver. So the argo takes roughly the same amount (it seems so far) and i got around 4-6 nice flavourful clouds, i'd say they were pretty much the same as my air, in terms of density and amount of vapour, very tastey i must say. I always stir my bowl and get a few last hits, call me greedy :-)

I will update again after some more testing. So far it seems it's portability will be cool for when i walk the dogs and go fishing. And efficiency and taste and being easy to keep clean. I'll probably have it as my daily for the next few weeks and see what this bad boy can do !!!!

I just joined the argo train (since canadian company i am sure this comes from my team the argonauts). Ordered one from Puffitup ( a fantastic retailer). I love my solo and know(?) that this device will be of the same reliable high standard. My solo is amazingly consistent.

In dialogue with Randy from puffitUp and he hoped the ArGo's would arrive today. He has been at Vegas convention for the last few days so I am expecting it will take a bit to catch up. I have lots of vapes thus for me I don't have trouble waiting. I love dealing with puffitUp. They are so customer responsive.

Hey guys and gals, i wanted to merge this onto my other post but i can't for the life of me remember how. Just a little update on my time with the Argo.

So i measured a stem full on the air (my old daily) and it was equal to the amount for a full stem on the Argo, perfect. It seems i can vape a full bowl on the air in probably 7-10 mins before it turns itself off. Whereas the argo i actually seem to get a longer session.

I have also noticed that my abv is lighter on the argo. Even tho the temp is going upto 428f and only 410f on my air. I'm no scientist so i'm assuming maybe the argo is more efficient than my air? Not entirely sure at this moment in time, i will put up a couple of pics later for you peeps to see. I apologise for comparing it to the air constantly i just figure alot of people will have or had a go on an air.

One of my friends last night had a session on my argo and said it was the best flavour of any of my vapesof mine he has tried. He was also very impressed with the air milking my water pipe. Trying to convert him to fuckcombustion!

So far i'm loving the argo, efficiency and taste, easy to clean, and this weekend i will test out its portability when i walk the dogs :-) happy vaping everyone!

Argo rode up yesterday from puffitup NV. It is impressively portable and with the popup glass guard it is an on the go machine. It feels very poweful. Very little mass with a strong battery. I start at about 350 and raise it 10 degrees or so and it there very fast after initial warm up. It does not, especially at these temp, extract like my other go portable the grasshopper but then I don't expect it to have the grasshopper attitude (mine has been mia at the lab Dec 4) . If it cooks the load like other conduction vapes then i might need to develop a micro dose strategy and carry a few stems. I so far very happy.

So been using Argo for a week. Love it. I use one of the extra rubber plugs that it came with as a cap for the mouth piece that stick out of the vape instead of popping the thingy up. The rubber cap seems to be a different size than the one used for the tube containers so it almost looks like it was intended to serve as a cap. I do this so I don’t have a hole picking up lint when it’s in my pocket, plus it always stays on and is a perfect fit. Helps with the smell too but since this is convention type it’s minimal anyways. Oh and the very FIRST bowl I had packed I dropped the glass tube ——-. Good thing it came with two...

For all of those who use the Argo, what temperature settings do you use? I been keeping mine at 390 but I really don’t have experience with vapes. I had the Davinci ascent years ago and used to keep that at 390 or 410 at the end. The the unit failed after 2 years but I did not follow good care instructions so it’s partially my fault.

Cool. You might try standard half inch vinyl caps, they do a fine job protecting the exposed stem and keeping insects out. You can also get slightly smaller (10mm?) ones and cap both ends (keeps your loaded herb or ABV in place and protects the stem in the case of a drop:

You can also buy the similar caps for 1 by 2 inch tube, they do a great job covering the entire top (or bottom for that matter) at one time:

WRT temperatures, I'm a MMJ type and almost always run at 390F. Some guys vape at 360 or so and enjoy the flavors, then raise the temperature to get to the good stuff. More power to 'em. And then we have the hard corps who go straight to 428F and hunt for clouds.....usually quite successfully.

And while WTs are hard to rig (at least for now), many/most guys step up the temperature when water is used. Maybe 10 or even 20 degrees?

Best advice is to experiment and follow the results you like. Solo/Air/ArGo is a very flexible platform, it gives great service to a wide range of users.

While I like Arizer products, I do not care fo how they deliver them. I ordered a couple of spare stems for my ArGo thinking they would be delivered just as they were with the ArGo, in a plastic tube with the cap. I received them today, no plastic tube and no cap. The plastic storage tubes for the glass stems only seem to arrive with the two tubes in the ArGo box. I thought others here should know. Respect! -YaMon

Nope. Too new and low volume I suspect. Making the tooling to make such parts (machined graphite IIRC) is expensive, you have to have a solid potential market to make the risk worth while.

What's the old joke? "The first part costs $18,200 (tooling costs), the second one cost 11 cents (material costs)". I once worked for a place that replaced cut and bent sheet metal end plates with molded plastic ones. The two pieces for the mold were about $26,000 IIRC, but the molded parts cost six cents each (and came in big plastic bags, all identical), the metal ones were a bit over a dollar each (each lamp needs two), before they were painted (not needed on the plastic parts of course). And we had troubles with the holes lining up after being bent, filing out the screw holes by hand as needed was a serious labor drain on a low cost, high volume production. All totaled we figured it saved a bit over 3 dollars a lamp, after you paid for the tools. Fun stuff.

OTOH, the Chinese might get onto it. Their 'threshold of entry' is much lower (but so are the profits). Time will tell, but for now the best advice is to 'get creative' I think. Half inch ID Silicone tube mates up to the exposed stem very well........

Hopefully, in due time, high numbers of ArGo owners will create 'the demand' that Capitalism runs on.

Have a local glass blower simply fuse (what glass guys call welding glass....) a GonG fitting or more tube on the factory stem? That way all the critical stuff (bowl and partition) are 'done right' for you.
