Are most people here using the device in session or on demand mode? Whenever I’ve had both heating options in portable vapes in the past, I always used session over on-demands for an ease of use standpoint. Do most of y’all stick with session mode on the AVLP?

I'm still experimenting. Session is convenient insofar as you don't have to keep holding the button to heat up and hit it. But the heating time is pretty short, and I like the idea of not having my herb cooking when I'm not hitting it. As some have advocated, a high temp on-demand hit is pretty darn fabulous. It tastes good, produces crazy clouds and pretty much extracts your whole bowl in a couple hits. That is currently my favorite method.

Interesting you mention on demand mode. Do you have to select on demand, as opposed to session mode? If so, how?

When I was testing the unit yesterday, I was wondering if I was in on-demand mode, or if the unit was frying my flower when I wasn't drawing. (Otherwise it worked find, some good draws.) No instruction manual came with my unit.

PSA to the ALP lovers: v4 Dab Caps fit perfectly on the mouthpiece and make an excellent WPA. I personally think it is much better than the glass one, very minimal and no concern of the heavy device sitting on a glass joint. The idea came to me suddenly a few nights ago.

On demand full temp strong draws
Absolutely a beast like this (mini plenty/baller)
Good flavour and good hits with perfect avb
Session mode is only for the liquid pad

This looks nice for the size
Glass is nicer feel though
I like the form factor of this idea

I made a suggestion via email that maybe a round exit hole mould would be good with the ceramic factory MP
I sent a pic of my silicone round end as an example - it would only extend the length of the MP by about 5mm
I'm willing to sacrifice the size by 5mm to get a nice smooth ceramic round hole MP

I also got feedback/confirmation on the battery amp draw
It was a typo as suspected saying 1a and the factory legacy battery is 10a
I was actually thanked for confirming the typo from CS .... And here I am thanking them for being prompt, open and communicative with all questions and specs or materials used

So anything 10a and above is safe to use in the ALP and will not affect your warranty according to email representatives

Yea this issue is known
If you contact them they will send an MP from the OG legacy which has a slightly larger silicone and fits in place snug without falling out
I had made a note of this in my order so got one sent in the original package
But they will send one to you free if you email them

Also I'm still waiting for my grinder, so the lumpy bud pieces I've put in have not been the best. And very small pieces using the concentrate pad, since I don't need much to send me to the Sea of Tranquility.

The versatility of this thing, y'all.... If I want to sesh, start low and temp step. If I want a face ripper, grind fine, on-demand, fast hit at max temp. Just... Yes.

It's been about 40 years for me. Back then, all we had was Mexican rag weed. Really awful stuff, if it was cannabis at all. And combustion only. Joints and maybe a bong at home.

Really just here to sing the praises. Still getting used to it but I LOVE this thing.

I have several other vapes and this one is right near the top of my list already. I’ve got a toddler so the dosing capsules would come in VERY handy. Plus I prefer to use them in my mighty to keep things clean.

It’s messy/fiddly to pack and unpack. Dosing capsules could potentially fix that. The microdosing disc is weird and I don’t get it yet. Gets sticky fast too. I feel like I’m going through a little more herb than with my Mighty+.

Just my quick rambling thoughts if you’re asking for negatives.

I get a lot of res on that tiny screen more than anything till it clogs so I think when the capsules come ill remove that screen. The black tube my bb6 came in works pretty good for storing and pouring into my ALP. It's not much bigger than the bowl so a few taps.

Just bought one off Amazon that wasn't a great fit. If I were to buy again, is buy a v4 directly from the site. The one I got from Amazon has a slit (fits our mp) AND a little circle cut out (to fit like a solo 2). Makes it universal fit in theory. In practice, it just means I can't get an airtight fit in my alp because of the little circle cut out. Though it was dab cap brand, it didn't say v4 anywhere on the item or package, so I can't verify it was indeed a v4.

****Edit*** The one I bought was a Heylo dabcap. And I was mistaken. It does NOT fit the Solo 2 (the circle cut out is too small for the solo stem). I'll link it below so people will be able to recognize it. Remove the small gold screen
Use a wide mesh mighty screen (or any 16mm) on the weed bowl
Unscrew disc half way
Better airflow/vapour production
No more mess at all

This retired my mighty
I sold it after owning 2 over a few years

I have a scoop that works well for filling. It’s not terrible and my experience is similar to other here with a puck and a quick brush. But it’s definitely messier than a D

I love the ALP. I used it more than my mighty today. But I think I like the combo. ALP better for a quick session when I only have a minute. Mighty is nicer when I’m causally hanging around vaping or doing other stuff at the same time.

Maybe I need to try out session mode on the ALP.

I made a comment like the beginning of July about getting 15mm mesh screens for it but I ended up taking the wheel off and use the wax pad to use half a bowl with good results.

Session mode is not as good ime
Only use temp 420/430 in session mode

464 full temp on demand strong draws
Remove the small oval gold screen. It affects airflow and clogs quickly
Unscrew disc on door half way (doesn't matter if it clogs the holes because the vapour will go around and under if unscrewed halfway)
Wide mesh mighty screen on the weed on bowl

No more mess - at all, big clouds, great taste and hard hits
Mighty doesn't hit as hard or taste as good

Once dosing caps are released I will remove the gold disc on the door also

Session mode works well enough
I just like the vapour quality and flavour from on demand mode
Better experience all round for me
