Achtung, Achtung! German FC: Question about Cannabis in Berlin?

So my Deutsch brethren, I’m going to be in Berlin from Wednesday morning till Sunday. As I understand it, cannabis is now legal in Germany but not legally for sale and there’s no way for non-Germans to buy it. Is that correct? Or is there some local place(s) where a person can get a few grams?

I’m a medical user with a UK card, however I don’t expect other countries really care about that. I’m too scared to attempt flying with flower but do plan on taking my prescription cannabis oil. I’m going to put it in my toiletry bag in my checked luggage. Does that seem fairly reasonable or a totally insane plan?

Correct.

Not officially but you will find plenty of weed in Berlin for sure.
Wouldn't be too surprised if some locals join this thread and tell you exactly where to look for it. I haven't been there myself in years so I can't help you with that matter.

I wouldn't do that. Especially at the airport there's always the chance for a security check and if they find your oil, it's importation of narcotics from a country outside the EU.

There's a 99% chance that nobody will give a fuck. It all depends on if you're willing to take the risk. My guess is around a 1000€ fine in the worst case.

Based on experience you should get your hands on some good hash that you just put in your pocket without any packaging material and for the short period of time that you spend in security checks, you put it in your mouth like some candy. Worst case then is you eat a couple grams of hash but it always worked for me.

You'd need a letter from your doctor about the purpose and length of your travel and exactly how much medical cannabis you are going to import. But that's for other EU countries and not for the UK tbh.

Thank you all so much for the advice. Unfortunately, one of my medical conditions is that I break bones more easily than normal people and I broke my ankle the day before we were meant to leave. So I’m having surgery instead of experiencing Berlin. Thanks again!

One thing to keep in mind is that the rules are still strict about it. Especially this part is important to know:

Consumption of cannabis within 100 metres (110 yards) of certain areas (including schools, kindergartens, public playgrounds, sports facilities and "pedestrian zones in city centers" between 07:00 and 20:00) is prohibited.
