Great opportunity for anyone who wishes to experiment with sapphire without the hefty price tag.

It may not look pretty, but this sapphire insert is FULLY structurally intact. The damage caused here was by thermal shock. However, there are no places on the surface that you can feel the cracks and there are no chips or pieces missing. It will not give to applied pressure. If you were to go just by feel and without looking, you wouldn't be able to distinguish this insert from a brand new one.
