Can we get a TLS certificate for the website? They're freely available with something like Let's Encrypt: https://letsencrypt.org/getting-started/

Why does FC not use SSL? You can get a certificate for free (let's encrypt). I just don't feel safe with sending all information in the open. Do you need help setting it up?
