Should we be combusting at 440F with the device? If that’s the case I guess mine is underpowered as well. It’s a heavy/dark roast but so far no combustion at 440. Though lately I’ve been sticking to 380.

Unfortunately never used another version of the Firewood for comparison, but I'm enjoying 380/390, and completely able to evenly roast a bowl at that temp, but also enjoying the faster/stronger extraction at 440.

Replacement unit arrived yesterday and all is well so far. Really missed this powerful little device. Going to continue to follow up with Tafee to get an explanation on the runaway heating event, should they discover anything or figure out how to reproduce the issue.

A replacement puck unit is on its way to me now! Tafee support, as expected, has been amazing. They said they need to spend more time investigating what happened with my unit, going to periodically follow up with them to see what they learn.

Not a big fan of the xl. Find that most do cups still burn dabs even with the core xl and 6 curve profiles. Would recommend getting a v5 setup with tcr temp control over the core xl.

Hash rosin for me as well. I’ll have to try 410 ascent with the sapphire, but after playing around more last evening, I do feel like I get significantly larger clouds, with similar or even better taste with the quartz, and I can go over 450 with no harshness. Strange.

What temp/mode/insert is everyone using? I'm finding it hard to dial in the sapphire cup to a point where I'm happy with the vapor production. Also feels like the sapphire cup starts tasting harsh around 450-460ish F, quartz seems smoother around that range.

Been enjoying my Ace as well! Just curious how you are using it to dab. Putting dabs on top of a bed of green? I've seen a few people mention the ace does great with concentrate, and not sure what the methodology is.
