I felt bad too until I decided that I could never square picking up the AVLP 2.0 (when released) so soon after scoring another like the one I have, even at a discount. These devices are built to last.

Correction (sort of): I picked up a Roffu 2 months into what would be a 9-month wait for AVLP capsules...but haven't touched the Roffu since first use of that first capsule in the AVLP. For real. Roffu is the trusty dusty, if not recently tested, backup. Yeah.

Came here to volunteer this observation to no one in particular: AVLP broke my VAS. I've not bought another device since getting comfy with the AVLP, which marks my longest no-buy period since I started vaping. Everything is good. Happy New Year :tup:

To be clear, my description of the problem omitted an important detail: I had forgotten to replace the the lid that holds the tool and covers the battery/glass tube :D. The ambient temperature issue was the result. With the lid in place, the device operates in both modes without difficulty...
