Same for me with that same unit. I find 520 to be the upper limit of flavor retention, even 525 the flavor starts to degrade with most strains I've tried.

I don't tamp, I may "press" slightly only make sure all the material is in the center so the head isn't sitting on top of any material. Not tamping keeps the air flow as open as is can be through the herb.

I felt the same way at 520, I'm gonna have to test out at 550+

I was running mine at 470-490 for a while but lately I've had it bumped up to 520 and that is perfect to extract a ton quickly without getting close to over roasting (no charring at all I've seen) and still has a lot of flavor - it does get a bit more roasted tasting as you finish the bowl...

Before I got my Aqua Lab J Hook, I ended up using a Hemper bong dry for my ZX even more than I did my FC-MOD. This is the one I use: I still love it. I was using it dry with all my other vapes, too. It's a great dry piece. I liked it a good bit less with water than dry.

I love it! I've pretty much used my ZX only with this since I got it. The air flow is so nice, there's a nice long path for the vapor to cool. I much prefer this to the tiny little Lotus J hook.
