I guess this was a problem - my LSV now won't even turn on. :|

It may have came with metal screens. I ordered some with mine, but it might include some even if you didn't order them. Check the bag the LSV came in, the little pickets above the pockets that held the wand. That is where I found my baggie of screens. @Sticks - great tip!

Not to ignore your other points (which I agree with) but this is the big key to me. I got my LSV on Friday and it is perfect ...for my routine. It addresses all of the "issues" (which were minor) I had with the PD. Namely the ease of use - fires up faster, temp control and no more fussing...
