Thanks for the input. To follow up: for your OG Splinter, are you finding that the capsule lid with the Tubo stem is hitting the heater screen? From what I understand there's more clearance in the Z, but just want to be sure what you're seeing.
Does anybody know if the Z works well with certain makes of dosing capsules? I was looking at the Tubo stem, which takes the S&B capsules, but was wondering if there were any other options available.
Hey guys--
I just got my Z and am using it with a 1 cell DNA mod (Lost Vape Mirage). It's taking way too long to reach temp in VW mode at around 30W. We're talking like 40s until any vapor. I've tried higher wattages, but I don't reach temp quickly (again, around 20s). I need to refire because...
To add onto this for others who are mod shopping, I believe Yihi is one of the better chips for TC capability as well.
Depth of the glass mating (ie, 19/22 vs 19/19) changes the effective distance to the heater. If a mod's TC settings are optimized for 19/22 glassware, using 19/19 increases the...
I think there are several reasons:
1. Ryan doesn't officially support temperature control/regulation with the Splinter, despite the ability of many mods to do this.
2. Some people prefer using a device in an unregulated fashion, using their senses to effectively control the device, instead of...
You're getting good answers here but from the sound of it, you're not interested in the nitty gritty details. I guess the more pertinent question is: do you want to use your vape in a regulated or unregulated fashion?
If regulated, go with a mod with a DNA chip, as they are thought to be one of...
Splinter and Z. I guess I'm trying to ask why someone would prefer one over the other. From what I understand, Splinter Z has the larger heater and has greater output?
Did you read the paper? There's a reason why it's in a shitty journal:
1. There is no real negative control data shown (ie, RF untreated/ABX untreated), despite the fact that they said they did it.
2. There is no (correct) statistical analysis of differences b/w experimental samples, thus no...
So what settings do you use on your mod? I would like to use TC for consistency, but it seems like a crapshoot, given that no real TCR/heating element material information is available. Has anybody calibrated their heater using an IR thermometer?
Along those lines, can anybody recommend a single flame torch with a locking ignition? I have a Zippo that I use with a torch insert, but would like to use something that locks.
So does anybody know the material used for the heater element in the Splinter Z? Everybody seems to use different methods to derive the proper TCR for the device (Nickel, SS of different types, manual TCR setting, etc), but has anybody asked Ryan? Does anybody already know? It seems like it...
