Oh that's good to know! I wasn't complaining about the broken ceramic since I cracked it myself when trying to get the original heating coil loose. It was totally my fault. I do wish, though, there was a way I could get and replace it myself. I have not one single complaint with the customer...
I did get a brand new base. However, the heating coil died and would NOT light up so I replaced that first. The ceramic is broken because it cracked in two places, though it still fits tightly. After reshaping the coil, everything seems to be fine now. I'm still too scared to try to update...
You were right, Dj. I looked it up on the web and nothing described it, but I finally got the app to read my device and the battery was almost empty. Now if I can just get the heating coil properly situated I'll be in good shape.

Okay, here's one for you all. I just got my baby back because the base died when I tried to update the firmware. Before that, it was a problem with the heating coil. NOW, the light on the start button lit up twice in succession and then turned itself off. WTF???

Yes, I went ahead and contacted Haze. I just got mine back from repair! And now I've murdered it, just after school has started. I neeeeed it :-) I've only had great customer service from them so I'm already a huge fan :-)

Haze and fellow hazers: I have a problem. I just tried to update my firmware and carefully followed the instructions on the Haze site. Downloaded the firmware onto a USB, bought a C adapter, plugged it in and held all the buttons down. The app is saying the firmware was NOT updated and now...
This happens to me, too. Sometimes, I literally have to take a tamping tool and shove the button to get it to turn. Nothing seems to be impeding the mechanism.
I'VE GOT MY BABY BACK! My heating coil wouldn't heat so I sent it back for repair. I figured it would be another two weeks before I saw it again but today, there it was. I can't say enough how great the customer service is. They sent me back a whole new base and it's working just fine...
