I am still unable to remove the ceramic rod from my Hercules sr 74x. Now additionally I am unable to remove the retaining nut. Everything is clean and I have never had big problems with leakage. Any more tips on how to remove the ceramic rod and retaining nut?

Any tips on how to remove a ceramic rod from a Hercules SR-74X? I can not get it to budge in either direction, even after soaking the entire assembly in ISO overnight prior to heating it with boiling water. Thanks for the help.

@SamuraiSam , is the Essential Oil Cartridge made of ceramic and steel, or nichrome and silica?

On w9tech.com the essential oil cartridge is described as "all stainless steel and ceramic" with "no parts to melt" (http://i.imgur.com/BqpaJy8.png). But in the aforementioned quote you say that it contains nichrome and silica. Please explain this discrepancy.

Brand new atomizers are catching on fire no matter what the battery. Mostly it is just the ones with the really bad builds that is why I thought it might be caused because of overlapping coils. Typically a package of 5 has at least 2 where the atomizer itself des not catch fire.

Why do these coils keep catching on fire? Does it happen because two coils touch? It happens at both low and high voltages and with multiple batteries.

I am having trouble removing the ceramic rod and the coil from my Hercules sr-74x. Do I need to use pliers for the rod and something pointy for the coil? I do not want to damage them, and applying heat did not make things any easier. Any advice?

Thank you, this is great advice, I have had much better luck getting the sticky threads to come loose after first heating up the Hercules SR-74x cartridge. I did this by turning on the Persei and heating up the Hercules SR-74x cartridge before attempting to loosen the threads.
