I've had my PAX for 7 months now and it's still going strong. I get the temp light issue every 2-5 ovens, but cleaning with an alcohol moistened pipe cleaner has always solved that issue.
I took it skiing here in Colorado several times this year and it's very important to keep the PAX warm or...
I have some dental brushes that look like this:
I know it's best to clean the PAX while it's still hot, but I'm worried about the bristles melting upon contact with the metal. Am I wrong to be worried?
It's been almost a month, and every problem I've had has been easily remedied by a quick...
Good point. One would have to make sure that the nylon is rated for the PAX's temperatures. (above 400-450 degrees Fahrenheit).
EDIT: according to wikipedia's "nylon" article, there are varieties of nylon capable of 660 F (350 C), although I'm not sure if pipe cleaners are made with a high...
I'm going to look for some nylon pipe cleaners small enough for the PAX. Hopefully they won't shed like typical cotton ones. Seems like an oversight on Ploom's part.
Hmm... I asked because I too fished out some resiny fibers from that area. Perhaps nylon pipe cleaners would perform better? (of the heat resistant variety)
Thanks for the idea! I have the wider version that looks exactly like this and it is a near perfect fit for the PAX oven. Small and lightweight, perfect for on-the-go.
Could the pipe cleaners be depositing that cotton?
I remember someone saying that their battery life improved after they left it on the charger overnight for two nights. It's just a lithium ion battery, so there's nothing specific for the PAX.

I feel like this should've been included with the PAX. So simple, yet so useful!
We need to compile a PAX FAQ/Tips/Common Issues list that we can just refer people to. I read through the whole thread, but I'm sure many people just aren't willing to do that.
If you're big on discreetness and have the money, why not? The Solo is not discreet.
If $250 isn't much to you, you won't regret it even if you enjoy hitting your Solo more.
Some people empty and reload, but that hasn't been necessary for me.
I'm not sure how tightly packed your oven usually is, but so far, I've been able to stir it up with something small -- like the tip of a mechanical pencil or paperclip -- without getting more than a few pieces up on the oven rim.
After day one, I can say that I'm satisfied, although the only other portable vape I've tried is the Vapir NO2. I'd say that, off the bat, PAX wins hands down on discreetness and flavor (even though it's 3x the price). The only way I can see making the Vapir NO2 discreet is getting a fast food...
I can't wait to bring the PAX skiing this year. If I would've seen a PAX on a ski lift last year, I would've just thought it was a flask (unless the smell was strong). The snow in Colorado was underwhelming last year, so hopefully mother nature changes her mind this year...
Wow, sorry to hear...
Absolutely. Products that are packaged this well often exceed my expectations, and the Pax has succeeded in that regard.
This thing definitely works. :smug:
