The Figured Myrtle is the only piece that's not available (first pic, left most piece).. all the rest are up for grabs. I need to find some more FM like that, it's incredible and I didn't get enough before it was all gone. Doh!
@ darkrom - yeah I understand not wanting charring. I think the people who have the PDs repaired figure they've used the PD as is for the whole time they've had it with no ill effects so why not. Makes sense in a way but I'll still stick with my closed core UD. :p
Alright peeps updating the...
You know I don't really know if there are health concerns re: the charring but it's something that I don't personally care for which is why I wanted a closed core design instead of one that's open on the bottom. With the PD repairs I take pictures of the char and any other issues and send them...
Here's a custom piece fresh from the shop that I thought you UDs might like to see.. it's purty.
Custom Figured Myrtle
Have a couple more custom jobs to finish and will post pictures of those too when they're done except a 'Private Collection' piece who's owner wants to keep it private...
Hahaha you guys soooo crazy.. :lmao:
Working hard here but don't think I'll be able to make the 're-fresh' tonight.. probably tomorrow instead. :peace:
I've had good luck using an LED dimmer to lower the UD temp as needed.. this the one I've been using: http://www.amazon.com/Inline-Dimmer-LED-Strips-Ledwholesalers/dp/B004T9ITQ0/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1337375290&sr=8-6
Glad you guys all like the woods, even the 'plain' ones are pretty neat once you look at them closely.
It's actually kinda funny, having spent several years in the past working as a photographer I actually have to make a conscious effort to keep the pic quality on the low side. My logic being...
@ djonk - cool dude, the butter will help protect the wood from drying out too much. Osage Orange darkens with time and heat will accelerate that process but the butter shouldn't add too much. Lots of times OO will eventually darken to a deep brown'ish color so I'm interested in seeing where...
@ darkrom - yeah your old 12v power supply should put out just about exactly 12v whereas everyone else who has the newer power supply is running at 13.5v (ish).. so more like what you're running in your car. At 13+ it's definitely hot, really hot, uberhot. :p
@ hT - thanks again for the order dude, all pieces at this point have the power port on the side near the bottom.. only a few early generation pieces had it on the bottom. Hope you enjoy the piece.. ;)
Hey SM - I didn't find it yet but I'll keep looking. Worse case scenario I'll just make a new one.. gotta get caught up with some custom pieces I'm working on first though.
@ Gonzo - cool dude, thanks for the update.. glad your cuz digs the Twig!
@ SM - awesome man it sounds like your little pack of UDs has found a good place in your home..
@ DrPiff - thanks for the order man, your piece will ship out tomorrow.
I'm headed back to work.. talk to you UDs...
What's up UnderDudes?
Looks like you guys have a busy week planned for me, I've got 10 more UDs headed out in the mail today to new homes (hope you all enjoy them) and a bunch more to send out later this week. I've also got a couple UD repairs to do and a small pile of PD repairs. Also have to...
Thanks for all the feedback there SM, glad we can help you get away from combustion.. that's always a good thing. :)
Did you get one of the 1' splitters? I got a mixed batch of 1' ones and 2' ones.. in the future I'm going to stick with the 2' ones (unless I can find a 3-4' one at a decent...
Thanks for all the glass suggestions dudes.. I'm sure Underdogette will add them to her collection of ideas to experiment with.
@ OTA - Nooooooo dude, not the combustion word! I've got this Mahoe piece almost ready to go for you (should go on Monday) so just hang tight, be strong.. :o ;)
