Sorry to hear about the mishap Moto, let it sit somewhere warm overnight (unplugged) and then go ahead and see if it heats up tomorrow.
If it does then just let it run and any lingering moisture and/or wet-dog-odors should dissipate within a day or two.
If it doesn't then let me know and I...
That solder is 99.7/0.3 tin/copper so should be lead free and ok to use.
As far as wire goes I like bare (no insulation) solid tinned copper between 18ga and 22ga, I don't see any of that there at Newark but I imagine they must have it I'm probably just searching wrong.
Not sure where you...
Yep you should there easy enough, you'll have to experiment a bit to find out whereabouts that equates to on the voltage scale but hey that kind of research is fun right? :brow: I'm guessing somewhere in the 9.5v to 11v range would do it, or at least give you a reference point to start from.
That would probably work just fine even though it's a bit below what the resistor wants to draw power wise, I've used ones that lowly rated before with no noticeable issues. If you want to be on the safe side just buy a couple in case you need to replace it again later.
That one wouldn't work very well because it's made to be mounted opposite of what you need. You need one that screws in from the outside and that one is made to go from inside to out. You might be able to make it work but it's not optimal.
I would say you could get the plug somewhere local...
I'm not doing it anymore but I did a lot last year. I've stopped because 75%+ of the ones sent in were too badly charred to repair so it ended up a waste of time and money for the people sending them in (me too I suppose).
I don't know if it's the specific one Tom was using but I have used these to repair PDs for people quite a few times: http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=163-R123B-Evirtualkey11180000virtualkey163-R123B-E
and the resistor (aka heating element) is...
@ Buzz -cool, sounds good dude we'll get them added here in the next week or two I'm sure.. if you need one sooner than that you can always message Underdogette directly.
@ Hiro - I think you'll really like it, the wood is pretty uniquely awesome..
Alright, back in the (office work)...
Hey Dogs hope you've all be having some fun, foggy days with your Dogs. We've sent out lots and lots of new Pups in the past few weeks, guess that's reflected in all the new faces around here, the mini-reviews and all the fog advisories.
I've been hard at work on more shop maintenance...
1) It's going to depend a bit on the exact size of the Twig in question, what power supply you're using and the wood type as well. That all being said, many of the Twigs will heat up in <10 minutes to begin use (some users report < 5 minutes) and certainly within 20-30 minutes.
2) Again this...

Hey Puffers - yeah the Bocote Twig was a Lost Dog because of that chip below the power socket.. nothing structural and shouldn't have affected it's function or durability. Someone picked it up almost right away though so adios to that Pup. ;)
Quite a few woods (most really in some way) besides...
Ok Dogs, the refresh is FINALLY up.. in all we added just about 30 pieces this time. I would have been up earlier today but we broke the new server and had to restore it before we could proceed.
I think (think being the keyword) we have also resolved our email woes as well.. now I just...
Wow djonkoman that Pup has really darkened, not just from aging either you can really see the heat affected zone as well.. it does look really cool, thanks for sharing! That's one of the original 24/7 cores too huh, not one of the insulated ones?
Cool SS, we have a cable for that already made and ready to ship they're just not on the website. If you send a message to Underdogette she can get your address, figure out payment and send it out to you. :peace:
Doh! Did they charge you for 4, or for 4 boxes? :o
At any rate send me an email when you have a minute and we'll see if we can't work something out, maybe I can take them off your hands for some credit towards an UD. Those are the ones that I use(d) in the 1/4" core UD and I'm supposed to...
Hey SS64 I can't find a message from you anywhere, sorry about that. Cords for the VVPS you can either make yourself if you're handy and can find the parts or you can get from us. We only have one kind shown on the website but I can probably make you whatever you need. Can you post a link to the...
