Your screw-in element design is brilliant  I would never have thought about designing a vape if I hadn't seen that first!

Wow, 15V eh? I'm going to have to try that some time  I think I've figured out why I preferred a much lower voltage than most of the testers here. It seems to be about airflow, and I think you guys are drawing on the bong much harder than I do, so the heat doesn't build up in the herb as...

    Discontinued A Hot Pod

I will be offering a kit including stem and fixed voltage power supply. I won't be offering variable power supplies at this stage.

Thanks for looking into this, I'm very interested to see how it goes. OTA, knowing how thorough you are, I am sure you would try every conceivable combination! To be honest I have only tried the GG briefly but I had to mention the results here, even though it is too early to come to any...

@OTA There's no way you'll find any green bits in my ABV either. That photo I posted is just to show that vaporization temperature has been reached at 12V as there is plenty of dark brown in there. It's not the light colour that some have described. When I revaped it the next day something did...

There isn't a "simple" way to use a voltmeter to measure the power supply. The power supply needs to be plugged into the vape to get an accurate reading, so you need some way of exposing the power leads so that you can put the probes on them. I used a plug and socket pair that has screw-in...

That was a very interesting evening that I spent with bleak and his bubbler. Thanks bleak! :) I have no idea what you guys are doing but even at 13.2V I was burning the top of the load. It wasn't like totally combusting or anything, there was no actual smoke, but it felt pretty close. It...

Thanks for the informative post. The pods do look nicer in real life than in the photos, don't they? :D I can understand your wife's opinion about the cord. There is certainly a danger it could be considered kitsch but I just happen to really like copper as an element, and I think the colour...

This thing looks fantastic. Great price too. When is the 240V version coming out?

I was initially thinking of beeswax but I prefer the idea of using a drying oil. I really like the hempseed oil and consider it one of the Hot Pod's unique features, so I don't have any plans to change.

Leave it on any voltage you like. I've said from the outset that these pods are designed for 24/7 high temperature operation ;)

Have you been leaving the pod plugged in continuously? That's the best way to evaporate off any remaining oil. I'm surprised you can taste anything at all though.

Unless there are obvious signs of wear then there's nothing you need to do. If you can get hold of some hempseed oil then that would be ideal. Maybe give it a light coat once a year by rubbing a small amount of oil in with a clean rag. I think it would be best to do this while the pod is cold...

You clean your screens every day? Wow, I probably do it once a month. You are right about the fit of the screens. I'm working on the consistency of the tightness. It's difficult because all the glass tubes have slightly different diameters. That's how they come from the factory. I welcome...

Some good soldering tips there. I have to admit when I first started soldering (admittedly I was only about 12 years old) I did find it kind of frustrating. While I don't want to dampen anyone's interest in gaining a new skill, I think that trying to resolder the plug would be a bit of a hassle...

The only thing I can think of that would break is the resistor. I don't think 14.3V is too much for it though. I've had one running at 15V for several days with no problems. Let me know what you can find out and we'll get it sorted.
