Close, ES stands for Engineering Sample and means it was a prototype that was issued to someone for testing. Not intended to end up out there in circulation but sometimes testers go rogue and/or we lose track of one. If you share a pic when you get it I might be able to give you more info on it...

Yeah the Twigs usually run a little bit hotter compared to a full size piece of the same wood type and they heat up a bit faster as well. Less wood to heat and/or act as a heat sink. No problem swapping the stems for the price difference send us a message (or make a note of it on the order)...
