The last pieces of the puzzle for me was speed of rotation and rotating technique. Rotating too slowly often leads to hot spots, uneven heating and combustion. Rotate as fast as you can. I rotate my DV 360 degrees continuously when heating but not everyone has the dexterity to do the same. If...

I find that I only get uneven heating when using an Induction heater and always have. Heating using a torch means that only 1 side of the bowl is directly heated and by rotating while heating the side that isn't being directly heated cools a little as the heat permeates through the bud, this...

Same here. 2017-2019 customer service was the best around. 2020 onwards and it's like somebody else took over the company and the service levels dropped considerably. The info being given out by DV is also questionable - e.g the new caps are the same as the old caps - easily proven to be...

Try the half bowl setting, it's easier than wasting money on a new stem that might not make a difference and worked for me.

I have 4 caps from 2017 that I have hardly used. They are all smaller in diameter compared to the new captive caps and are heavier. 2021 Obsidian cap = 0.75 grams. 2017 Cap = 0.90 grams. I will try to post pics.

$300.00 is far too expensive for this. No thanks.

A legendary tip indeed! I only use the older 7 & 5 fin tips with the 3 positions - they run hotter than the later tips in my experience and the 3/4 bowl size is my go to.

The Vong is from 2020 imo and that style Omnivap was introduced in 2018 but yours has the later curved 5 fin tip so it's either 2019/2020.

Fwiw the older 2018 7 fin is far better than the 2021 7 fin. Clears a bowl in 2 cycles to a lovely dark brown abv.

I do the tamp down too but as the load heats up it expands and hits the cap, I just need to put a little less in I quess!

Overfilling or cramming as much in on my Dynavaps always leads to either scorching of the top of the load where it touches the inside of the cap or the need to stir the bowl after a couple of heat cycles. It's funny how much variation you get with devices that are basically the same!!!

I did think about it and I tried everything I could think of to get it moving but....... Dynavap should NEVER have released a model that was so prone to sticking - they obviously knew there was a problem but put them up for sale regardless and let's not forget the dumpster fire that was the...

Sorry to hear that. I bought the previous 2021 vong with the wooden body. I received it stuck in the closed position and it has remained stuck ever since. Dynavap quality control is not what it used to be sadly
