:myday:
My impression (which may be totally wrong) is that:
1. The heat turns the THC to vapor and releases it from the flower.
2. The heated THC vapor tries to rise.
3. The airflow through the flower is not equally spread; the air seeks the path of least resistance, and tunnels form, with most...
Random thoughts :myday::
1. I started using a new battery a few weeks ago. Right from the start the battery light on either FF (I have 2) was glitchy after charging this battery: When I plug in the recharge cable, the light is flashing blue, as is normal, but when fully charged the light turns...
I prefer to remove my mouth from the mouthpiece and end the draw by inhaling a little through my mouth. That way, it pushes down any vapor still in the mouth, which nasal inhalation would bypass.
Since the main Firefly topic thread has become so huge, I wish it would be broken into sub-topics in the future, such as:
Firefly: Techniques of use
Firefly: Mechanical problems and battery life
Firefly: Combustion
Firefly: Enhancements
Firefly: Suggestions for improvement
Firefly: Comparative...
My FF didn't used to do this, but a couple months ago it started needing daily recharge before use. I thought the battery was starting to die and ordered a spare, but so far the old one keeps going fine. I just have to charge it earlier on the day I use it.
I can live with that, and hopefully...
One of my two Fireflys burns hotter than the other one, and has combusted a few times when I try to push it too hard or pack it too tightly. But I have found that after additional sessions and cleanings (including wiping the bowl with an iso pad), the burned smell does fade to nothing. Which...
I'm not sure if this topic has been covered, since I can't search for CBD ("search keywords too short") in the forum.
There was a recent study at http://www.biomedcentral.com/content/pdf/2050-6511-15-58.pdf titled "A protocol for the delivery of cannabidiol (CBD) and combined CBD and...
I think the unit has a definite smell after use. I keep mine in the sock that comes with it, which I have never washed because I like that smell. And if you are concerned about odor, I think the whole thing should be kept in an airtight metal container (like a small Christmas gift tin).
I find...
Yeah, getting material in the mouth is one of the annoyances of the FF. A 20mm screen works great at allowing only the vapor into the mouth. I think some final hits should be after the bud is crushed, so the THC on the inside has a chance to get out. The early hits on the uncrushed buds does...
After using my Firefly for 3 months and being very satisfied with it, I bought a second FF, because I currently prefer to alternate sessions between high THC and high CBD cannabis, which I can now do much easier by having a FF dedicated to each. And it's more convenient to wait and then clean...
Well, manufacturers that want to sell their product everywhere don't admit their product is for cannabis use.
Not sure if this post should go here or elsewhere, feel free to move it into a new thread somewhere.

According to the research article at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3763649/ the oral bioavailability of CBD is only 6%. So when you take it orally, 94% is wasted and the 25 mg pills only really give you 1.5 mg. But it does stay in your body longer than from smoking/vaping (longer...
Here's the study I would like to see done, to firmly answer the question of whether holding vaporizer hits longer does any good or not:
The 2006 study titled "Evaluation of a vaporizing device (Volcano) for the pulmonary administration of tetrahydrocannabinol" found that "on average 35% of...
