I just went through button repairs for one of my TM2s back in April. The switch had separated from the circuit board.
The TM2 is designed to hold in your hand with the button against your palm. You switch by squeezing the unit.
The problem is, the button motion (and resulting force) are...
Just received my TM2 and have been looking up info on using S&B's dosing capsules.
The re-design of the TM's heater and chamber makes it less likely that the chamber's screen will be pushed into
the heater. The heater also has it's own perforated cover. If you are gentle while inserting the...
I received a couple of Bs this Wednesday from POTV. Up till this point, I've been using only electronic vapes,
so I don't have anything to compare the B with.
The B functions well as a micro dosing "one-hitter". It definitely is a good choice for people that tend to lose
things. Losing $40 is...
FYI, Sneaky Pete's stream today was a deep dive on the rise and fall of Ghost:
Deep Dive - Ghost MV1
I have a stealth and a silver MV1. Don't use them anymore since they were always
giving me consistency issues.
Boundless changed the CFV back in 2018. The herb chamber is now solid aluminum.
I've been using one of my older CFVs with the two part plastic herb chamber and
aluminum dosing capsules (S&B). It's my thinking that the aluminum acts as a thermal
sink because the CFV needs 2-3 draws to start...
I run my CFV (V1) for 4 sessions each evening. Looks like the CFV's timeout is set for 4 minutes, so a
total of 16 minutes still leaves me with the batteries about 50% charged. Perhaps the SwiftPro has different
batteries in it or you need a better quality USB cable? I've found that these...
Too quiet around here! To quote a line from Pink Floyd's "The Wall": "Is there anybody out there?" :)
I picked up a couple of the older version CFVs on clearance the summer of 2019. The black one lasted
2 years before the batteries barfed all over everything. The red one still works great, but...
The Boundless CFV gets used the most around here with glass. I have a pair of the original V1 CFVs that
work really well using dosing capsules and the basket screens (known as "Crystal Pipe Screens"). Boundless
had these on sale for $50 shipped at Christmas last year.
For tasting a new strain...
Ah! These tensioning strips and the small retention tabs at the bottom of the case
could be only on later versions of the case.
I had two cases with the retention tabs and one without. The one without was
much easier to remove the batteries, so maybe no tensioning strips in that version?
Looks...
If you search for LGGBM261865, towards the top of the results is a YouTube video that says:
"LG M26 (LGGBM261865) might be the worst 18650 cell of all time"
I ordered some Samsung 30Q to replace the LGs. Here is an enhanced picture of the
outer shell. Batteries are tensioned sideways by the...
OK. It's possible to remove/replace the MV1's batteries without ripping apart the housing!
The trick is to remove just the bottom cover. It has some adhesive holding it, but it's a rubbery
adhesive with a very light grip. Use a small, thin bladed screwdriver on either side of the
latch...
Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc. Brass fittings are usually a bright yellow/gold color.
If you heat a piece of brass with a torch, then it turns a reddish color, due to the copper.
The silver you see in one of the "chips" is the chrome plating. Something stuck to the
heatsink during plating...
If (big if?) the heatsink is plated brass, then there isn't any real danger from small patches
of the exposed brass. Brass is usually mixed with a bit of lead for workability.
The lead amount is very small and would need some form of acid to leach the lead out of
the heatsink.
If you are...
I'll keep an eye open for any clearance sales, but I imagine that Ghost
stuffed the distribution channels as best they could, so the distributers
all paid a lot for the stock they currently have.
Maybe in a year or two someone will find some crates in a warehouse and
we'll see well under $100...
The MV1 just takes time to get used to it. Try all the tips and tricks, keep at it, looking for the techniques that work for you. It took me a couple of months to get used to mine.
It seems that Ghost's marketing folks would like to think of us MV1 owners like this:
While the reality of MV1...
My Stealth had the issue with the black coating peeling off the heatsink. I was very gentle with it, but started getting little black flakes after 3 months of use. The Stealth actually looks good with the standard silver heatsink, just use the black cap and the darker mouth tube.
That said, the...
I picked up a Boundless CFV (version 1) on sale last summer very cheap.
It works well with the dosing capsules for the Mighty. Flavor isn't as good
as the Ghost, but it's very easy to travel with. I got a pair of the capsule
caddies that hold 4 capsules each. Air and water tight.
If I use the...
